deng, I just bought mine. One thing I do like is the orientation alignment. that would help installation a bit, IMO

These bulb replacements will never get close to the OEM LCI brightness. To duplicate OEM LCI lights you need a complete new LED bulb system.

What I've observed is that these bulb replacement systems, simply just increases light temperature higher and higher in each new version (along with other hardware adjustments to support higher outputs & other improvements). As your eyes cannot tell the minute differences between these outputs and sunlight (6500k), you actually won't see them in daylight as they're the similar color temperature as sunlight, makes sense? You'll need blubs that are straight up blue, or light temps WELL above 12000k. Of course at night, they'll all look fantastic.

Again, just to recap, if you want the OEM LCI look that's in all non-M cars, then you'll need a new LED lighting system. There are vendors on here that offer these systems.
While much of what you say is true, the Lux V3 or V4 are a major improvement over what comes standard on this car. Until the new LCI sutup is available, if ever, I'll take this.

I have the v3. I don't think I am going to get the v4 because I am actually thinking to trade it in for M4 in 2-3 years (will try to avoid the 1st yr model). There's no point of dumping more money on my e92 M3 now. I will save the money for the M4 and mods for the M4 instead.

So, here's my first post to this forum. Just popped a few quarters in the gum ball machine and will have the V4s in a couple weeks. Will get some OEM comparison pics together as well as a little mod page.

Same thing happened to me and I was talking to Lux before I purchased the 6500K. I was trying to decide between waiting for the 5k or getting the 6500k. They recommended 6500K but never mentioned a new version would be out within 2 weeks that would let me select the color. Not cool.

The only thing that saved me is my car hasn't arrived yet and I now will return the 6500K and have already ordered v4.

I agree new versions always come out, but with my specific question and dilemma, a heads up isn't too much to ask for. That's how you get repeat business.

Exactly what happened to me. I am quite aggravated about it to say the least. Did not give me the option or heads up at all. At the end of the day, they make more money because the V4 is more expensive.

Having installed the V4, I have to say I am impressed with them. No flickering or error warnings and the color selection option is perfect for all of us with OCD about getting the correct color temp.

My question is has anyone tried changing the color temp with the lights on. Seems to be easier than turning the lights off then changing color then turning the lights back on to look at them.

Going to contact LUX and post the answer they give me.

Just heard back from LUX. Color temp can be changed on the fly with the lights on. No damage to the LED's.

Why would you want to pop off the protective cover and dig out the small box with the mini rocker switches with the lights on? Seems safer to shut the car completely off before digging around in the wires...

or...connect everythin, don't tuck in the connectors and temp selector, lid off, hood up...start the car, and then adjust temp to your desire....

just a thought
