Automated ticket in West Hollywood, How can I get out of it?
Hello guys,
I need a little help with a ticket I got in the mail. I ran a light and the automated machine got me. Now, I have heard theres plenty of ways to get this removed/out of it. On the back of it theres a affidait of non-liability. The picture doesnt even look like me. Now I know I know, this is wrong but hell... Paying $495 is hectic, and not only that my insurance premium is already through the roof. Peeps please help |

But in all honesty I have a lot of friends in law enforcement and these are pretty damn hard to contest. They have a picture of you or someone driving your vehicle with a picture of your plates... Most citations are easy to contest and beat but these automated photo taking citations provide actual evidence so... Good luck with your case and trying to win cause it'll be like kicking a dead horse...

Did they positively identify you? It may not even be a real ticket. Google, "snitch ticket"
You may be able to get out of it unless someone from the camera company comes out and testifies to the calibration, accuracy, etc of the device: http://www.vvdailypress.com/articles...a-tickets.html |

+1, I thought those were not admissible now.. (other than in certain areas, such as Beverly Hills).
I used http://www.4mrticket.com/ once and they got me out of a ticket. It wasn't cheap but did the trick.

I think it's only DTLA?
There are a couple cameras up here in SFV (especially by the metro) and they're active and ticketing people...

Fight it. These types of tickets assume you're guilty and the burden is on them to prove it. A pic of your car is not enough. Very easy to get out from this type of ticket.

The Cameras are illegal in the City of Los Angeles. West Hollywood, BEverly Hills and Santa Monica are their own incorporated cities. The cameras were not banned in those cities.
If you were speeding straight through the intersection, it is tough to fight. If you were making a turn, it is easier because you can argue that you were in the intersection to make the turn.

Just happened to me tonight, got flashed crossing the intersection while it was yellow then changed to red. I wonder how fast it takes them to get it into the mail.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but I just got flashed today. I've been reading around online and most articles say that they don't enforce them. Anyone have updates on this?

"If you are issued a red-light camera ticket in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Culver City, Inglewood, Hawthorne or any other municipality within L.A. County, it will be processed by the L.A. Superior Court. And if you ignore that ticket cold-turkey -- no contact whatsoever -- the court will send you, or whoever is the registered owner of the vehicle, scary mail. If you continue not responding, you'll start getting even scarier collections letters from GC Services. But if you ignore those, your ticket will be tucked away in the court's internal files." |
