I spent three weeks in Germany when I was in high school, had my 18th birthday there. THat was over 10 years ago now, I'd love to go back. The wife and I really want to plan it around Oktoberfest 2011, but I'm not sure the production will go until then.
Yeah it's very expensive. The lady who gave me the run-down of the car and it's features said it costs around $600-800 euros. This years Oktoberfest was the 200th year celebration so it was absolutely nuts. I recommend getting it all out of your system before you pick up the car though lol.

It's definately an awesome experience. Just remember you don't actually end up saving any money doing an ED.. I probably spent more money than I saved on the car!

About Eur 570 give or take a few - I did it. But you do get reimbursed by BMWNA upon return.

Looks like she wasn't too far off on her estimate. How long did it take to get your money back?

That's not bad at all. I was thinking it would take longer. Thanks for the info.

Thanks! You wont be disappointed with ED. I see you are in the DMV area so let me know if you need a good, no-hassle, invoice CA.

I did not know that! I'm guessing if we did a two week trip and made it up to the 'ring I'd have put on enough miles to do the service.

I did it the other way around - drove the break-in miles, then went to the Ring.

Mind blowing stuff, to drive a fully broken-in M3 all across Europe...

Congrats! Looked like a fun trip. Love that color combo as well.

On a side note, the toll sticker isn't for zurich. It's for the highways. If you kept off the highways you wouldn't need it. It's the same for Austria and a few other European countries.

Yeah the toll stickers were for Switzerland and Austria. The only thing is that Switzerland makes you buy a years pass while Austria has tiered plans like 10 days, 1 month, 1 year.

Great photos... but this one is VERY blurry. You need to learn how to focus better:

I mean, you can barely see her.

OP, I was at the BMW Delivery Center and Museum on September 30th, I saw that Mottorad Guy driving up and down the center, must have been the same day you've been there!

Enjoy the car!
