Depending on my wife and daughters we may cut out at tin top. Which is actually pretty close to where I live. Hopefully they are good for the second half too.

Thanks For Posting the Pics Buschy

I was too lazy to take any today. Total between the tour route and the trip to Cleburne and the trip home from Strawn did over 400 miles in the car today. Lots of good roads, but still a long day.

I had an EXCELLENT time.

It's not often where I get the rare chance to let my M3 loose.

I believe I endured through most of the journey with you guys, but then I had to head back to work for a few hours.

I'm definitely interested for the next drive.

Thank you Marc for holding this drive. I really enjoyed every bit of it!

The drive from Dublin to Strawn wasn't among the best of the day. Mary's in Strawn turned out to be a very down home meat and potatoes place. It was ok, but not great. I think we finally got home about 5:30 PM.

It was an interesting day in that there was a lot of police radar on I35W going down to Cleburne before the drive, no radar on the drive (I don't think we saw any police?), and then no police radar coming back (I20, I30, and 820) until we got on I35W going north towards Denton.

I'm so exhausted that I don't feel like driving my M3 for this entire week until Cars & Coffee.

The drive was worth it though.

Nawaaz left for home from Dublin. I think we were there about 2:00 - 2:30. Your girls would have been very tired of the fun by then, except that the fountain at the Dr. Pepper Museum might have turned them around.

Cal - how's was this compared to the DFWAutoClub drive awhile back?

Similar, But Much Longer

Straight line speeds were maybe a bit higher (primarily because of better roads and more open country). No stretches as bad as the one that had all the pot holes on the shoulder (but one section that was close). There was plenty of gravel (that's just part of the Texas secondary road experience). It's generally more scenic and a bit more rugged down there. Overall, the DFW AC drive that we went on and the BMWCCA drives have a very similar feel.

BMWCCA uses CB radios which work much better than the FRS/GMRS radios. You can actually carry on a conversation as you drive along. Many of the BMWCCA people (including me) bring their wives. We probably stop more often and socialize more. The day and half day drives are a fairly new thing for the BMWCCA group. Weekend trips to the Hill Country or Northern Arkansas are more common. We've even gone on a couple of 5 day trips to Big Bend with BMWCCA. While people come and go all the time, I've known some the participants for over 10 years.
