Planing to visit HAWAII in maui island.

Why did you post this in the Southwest forum?

Maui is cool, bit too touristy for my liking. Bunch of nice little shops and resturants in Lahina, but if you go down to Wailea on the southern side of the island, most of the nicer shops and hotels are down there. Where you staying?

am planing to stay at the ritz carlton am not sure where its located they told me it has a good location

Kapalua, I like it but would reccomend others. Kapalua is way up north and it gets very windy there. I would reccomend somewhere down in Wailea instead, either the Orchid Fairmont or Four Seasons. If you have or are taking kids, I'd say the Grand Wailea.
