2011 E92 $59k
Hello all:
I'm on the market for an M3, and I'm trying to decide whether I should purchase new or used. I found this car available nearby, I'd greatly appreciate your thoughts on whether the price is fair: 2011 BMW M3 Coupe Mileage: 16,200 Color: Jerez Black Interior: Palladium Silver/black DCT ZCP ZPP (it says "Premium Package 2", don't know what that means) Convenience package Heated seats Clean Carfax Price: $59K I'm not sure if it has premium sound, satellite radio, BMW apps, etc. Regardless, is this a good price? Is it soft (i.e. probably can be brought down)? Obviously I'd need to get it inspected, etc., but assuming everything checks out, what do you guys think? Or should I just get a new one |

I actually found one for 58-59k loaded 2011. It still seems a bit high but I dunno.

It looks like you're saving around $10k off of buying brand new, so I would personally only do this if the car is in immaculate condition. If you notice (or the inspection shows) anything like repainting, curbed wheels, dents, etc. or missing maintenance records, I'd say pass and buy new because you'll probably only get a couple thousand knocked off the price for those. If it's in perfect condition, I think trading 16k miles for $10k in savings is reasonable.
Good luck. |

I think thats the sweet spot of the market right now. Most dealers are asking about $62k for loaded low mile '11s which puts you around 58k or so after negotiation. Thats where I ended up last month buying mine and I thought I did 'ok'.

thanks everyone, this was super helpful!
I think I will have the vehicle inspected and then go from there. Does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Bay Area that handles these things? As you can probably tell, I'm super new at this (this will be my first car purchase, after getting a hand-me-down 10 years ago!). Thanks so much! |

Yeah I would head to BMW get a full PPI done (usually runs around 275) I think the price is in the right ballpark I think you can get it down for 57-58. Is it private party sale?

60k is fair for a DCT 2011 E92.
The manuals go for a bit higher, here in So-Cal 2011 E92 with 6MT go for around 65-66k.
