Some V8 noise for you.

A short drive with friends. I only managed to record a small portion of the run due to a lack of space in my SD card. Enjoy!

Nice stuff! Looks like highway 9. Is it me or sometimes the engine sounds like its lugging? I was like "downshift man." Maybe because of your mods and my crappy ears!

The only mod I have is the Akrapovic Slip-on. No mods under the hood.

Yup you're right. I left it in 4th/5th at times because I knew my buddy in the R32 was slowing down. I wanted to let the engine breathe a little. This video is only a very short portion of the run and I was paranoid about overheating the engine.

my question is What's in that GTI? has some good mid range power.
This is one heck of a nice road. Kinda of scary though due to the fact it has some cyclists riding.
thanks for sharing.

Thumbs down

why would you be worried about overheating? you can do that much more aggressively on the track all day.

I shouldn't be. But I was keeping the RPM between 5000 and redline while trying to keep up with the R32 so I stay in the power band. I would say that I was pushing the engine as hard as I would on the track. Also, I knew that the guy in front of me was slowing down so there's no point in keeping it at high RPM. I should not be worried about overheating but I'm paranoid like that.

I think he's making close to 300hp. He's got Bilstein coilovers, Brembo brakes, light alloy wheels (don't remember the brand), exhaust, removed the back seats, and I think a tune. I'm sure I missed a lot of other stuff as well but fast, light car + better driver > M3 + lousy driver.

Yeah...hella motorcycles on that road too...everyone sharing. Scary and you gotta be be careful of the bikes for sure. Highway 9 keeps lifeflight in business if you know what I mean.

Highway 9 is legit. You have to get there early to avoid traffic and cyclists who enjoy getting in your way.
