Great sound!! I assume it's this video:

At first I thought the sound was awesome, but when I hear it in the higher RPM's when the car is moving there is something about it I don't like but I can't put my finger on it. Just my opinion.

It is may different from what you know...it is not the typical deep US-V8 sound, you are right.

It sounds good but seems to have lost a bit of that wonderful 'metallic' sound. Sounds loud though!

Some of the time it sounds like a big, mean, drag car.

Your dyno video is awesome.
If you ever need to explain the wonderful thing about the M3s V8 compared to any American/Aussie V8 or even the C63, just play that video! Love how it just keeps going and going! |

I'm getting me one of those! :O
All though... Might not be such a smart thing to let the cops know where you are... Oh well, that's what the off-switch is for ;D |

I like it, but I do miss the rasp, but am sure that can be brought back by changing the midpipes. Some questions though:
1. How much does it weigh 2. How much does it cost 3. Do you have any detailed info i.e pics, how it works etc... 4. What are the power gains/losses, dynos etc... I went to the companies website but they didn't have any info, and it didn't help that it was in German. Thanks! |

Hi Guy, Thank you very much, but it is not yet on the web site, because that was the second car he made ! To you questions: 1. It is based on the original exhaust only modified, I will do some mre picīs within the next days. 2. Price youīll need to ask, because I got a special price for the prototyp, it was also incl. the 2nd stage catīs, they are changed to 100 zeller? and they are shorter. Please ask the producer for the price, the valve is based on the Porsche equipment. If you do not get an answer from them, send me an email. 3.Picīs will follow 4.The first dyno test shows a power gain, but detail test will follow the 2nd week 2008 ! This company is very small and they are in big business right now for the AUDI R8īs, as I said,if you want I get in contact for you with them. |

+1 this kind of mania is the reason why I'm increasing the debit column check mark in favor of this engine over something w/ an iconic flat 6.

Not really digging the sounds myself, sounds to low and throaty, too Detroit and not enough Maranello. However, I love the idea of a tuneable exhaust sound. It suits me and suits the nature of the car perfectly (very user adjustable). Being able to lower the noise a bit for those long freeway jaunts and being able to hear your passenger or your tunes better is fantastic. Then when you want either:
-more aural pleasure -more performance (maybe a bit better flow/slight hp gain) -more attention Just flick the switch! Cool. The M3 does have a built in system for this so it should be as simple as having manual control over the valve in addition to it being automated. |
