Detailer Suggestion

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good detailer in the Williamsburg / Southeast Virginia area. The car is in dire need of clay bar and some paint correction.

Not sure if you're willing to travel, but I've done a lot of cars on the boar as well. Raja and I are both in Northern VA.

Do you guys know of anyone who'd be able to do work on bumpers/fenders/trunks as far as alignment goes in MD/Northern VA?

Cheers!

Try D&V in Chantilly or EuroPros in Gaithersburg

D&V is good for body work.

i've heard D&V is good, but they are pricey. I shopped around, and for what I wanted done on my wifes car, they were at least $500 over what everyone else was quoting. I didn't go with them, but the place I did chose (Tysons Corner Collision Center) did an excellent job. They deal in Audi, VW, Benz, Aston Martin, and Porsche though (wife drives a Vdub).

So take my info for what it's worth.

^ Damn.... and that the Penske owned dealership joint!! If they're beating someone's prices that someone is probably high (on price at least). D&V have a big expensive bldg to pay for..... I don't think Mr. penske has a cash flow problem. LOL D&V is pricey. But it is a clean place full of good equipment with ample secure parking so people don't wince at leaving car there like a lot of body shops.

EuroPros really are good too, esp. for big time collisions on European cars that require special types/brands of equipment (fesp. rame benches to get to OEM spec). They aren't cheap either but I think on the avg less than D&V. EuroPros downside is don't hold your breath if you are expecting quick turn around, but on something small like body panel alignment manybe not so.

I've never had experience w/ the Tysons place but I doubt Sir Penske has lackeys running the place.

Good to know. An alternate reasonably priced shop is needed around here.

Don't know if its Penske run or not. The place is right by the Audi dealership in Tysons Corner, on Tyco Road. I think the repair facility is partnered with Audi, Porsche, VW, Aston Martin, etc. They are all in the same general area.

I got to tour their facilities. Their parking area for their vehicles is gated and secured. Their repair facilities are immaculate and they too have top notch equipment.

I got a good impression from the place, the service advisor attending my account kept me up to date with daily updates, and everything went really smoothly from dealing with my insurance company, to delivery of the car. Seamless transaction.

This is just my experience.

Don't know if they do BMW, but when I asked, the advisor was confident that they can handle European brand cars.

Wow, good stuff guys. I will check them out.

Also - if someone's in MD, I heard Auto Collision Specialists in Reistertown is good.
