Not really a big fan of exhaust sound, but I think so far the LFA is the best exhaust sound that I heard.

That's why they call it exhaust "note" because as the engines scream a la formula 1, they hit a high pitched note that supposedly is music to some peoples ears.

In terms of preference, some people like the deep growl of a V8 or similar but in all honesty, if it's done right, regardless of your preference, it's something to be admired

Oldie but a goodie

Love this M5 with Eisenhaus Meisterschaft GT exhaust.

But nothing comes close to the sound of an F1 V10 - if you've seen it live you know what I'm talking about...

Porsche Carrera GT has one of the most insane exhausts I have ever heard, ever. V10 is unreal.

That's stock. They sound much better with an Akrapovic exhaust.

My N52B30 sounds like that, and even a little more refined

The best way to describe it is it sounds 'good' or 'nice'.. which doesn't say much, but its not 'in your face' or sound like thrashing metal

Basically, you prefer V8 engines.

I have not driven a N54/N55 engine, but ironically the weaker non-turbo N52 may sound better, especially above 5-6k rpm where it really screams but in the N54/N55 it is neutered

I heard the slk350 (v.300hp) and it was really "WOW" - funny the other MB 350s don't sound like that

I would take the sound of an F430 over any V8 on the face of this planet!

I always loved the sound of a Honda VFR750 with a Yoshimura pipe. V4 goodness with gear driven cams. How I miss that bike.

i think f430 exhuast is not strong enough. Listen to M3 with deleted cats and meisterschaft gt2 exhuast. You can hear the exhaust before you see the car two blocks away even its just revving 3-5K
