another diff noise thread.

I've been searching the forums for nearly an hour now and have seen some rather scary stuff. One guys diff completely fell off and aside from that it seems many people are experiencing 'the noise'.

I have also seen that forum members are divided as to whether to put the diff noise oil in or not.

I am not that versed in things related to differentials, so if someone could explain why it would be negative to put in the 'fixer' oil that would help me. Also, are there any positives aside from no noise?

GT3Tim, I think I saw you talking about this, and you seem rather informed--could you point me to your post or add other info here? Thanks.
