Very high end wheels. I was hoping to own a set one day.

Heard about this last week. This certainly wasn't a surprise within the wheel industry. Fikse was on a downward spiral the last few years and their product quality had dipped in pursuit of higher profit margins.
Here is a little known insider secret about Fikse... When the company first started to build dedicated track wheel setups, they used BBS as their primary componant supplier. That's how they were able to establish their stellar reputation of building such high quality wheels. In recent years, they switched over to using marginal quality componants IMO, and that stellar reputation started to crumble. This is why I constantly harp on purchasing quality wheel products, that use the highest quality raw materials. Cutting corners on your product quality, will eventually come back to haunt you...

I give Forgeline a major thumbs up for building wheels with the best raw materials possible. They use 6061-T6 aluminum for their centers, outer rim halves and the inner rim halves. (no weak 5000 series un heat treated crap) And they were doing this years before HRE, DPE, iForged, (or any of the other modular wheel companies out there) ever considered moving up to 6061-T6. (a lighter yet more durable material) So I give them credit for stepping up and delivering a better overall product, at a time when all the other 2 & 3-piece wheel companies were using the inferior 5000 series aluminum alloy for their top of the line wheel offerings. (while charging the consumer top dollar) Behind the scenes, these other companies were laughing at Forgeline for buying 6061-T6 him halves that cost DOUBLE what they were paying for weaker 5454 rim halves from American Rim Supply in Carlsbad, CA. (at that time) Some of the comments that were directed at Forgeline REALLY ticked me off... I wish you guys could here how some of these wheel companies feel about the average consumer. It's not pretty. If you guys actually knew how little they care about delivering a product with the highest quality possible (for a given price point) you would avoid most of them like the plague. If you could actually sit in on some of these corporate meetings...what's in your best interest never comes up in the discussion. It's all about how much profit they can squeeze out of every sale. So for stepping up to the plate and delivering a superior product (when it wasn't "en vogue") I give Forgline a lot of credit. I have been recommending their wheel products to BMW enthusiast for many years now. I respect companies that do the right thing...even if no one else will. That takes guts. And as a consumer myself, I will always support companies that aren't constantly trying to treat me like a walking ATM machine...
