That's the BMW engineer's code for "We still prefer a manual transmission car and will punish you for your indiscretion."
In all honesty, it means your transmission doesn't work. But I'm guessing you surmised that on your own when the car wouldn't go into gear.

Sometimes the repeated gear selection will work or the steering wheel paddles will allow shifting. The M-GWS consists of the shift lever and attached control module. There are 14 Hall-effect sensors in the shifter that detect the lever position. The control module uses two communication lines for operation. |

So I got her back today and the first thing I noticed was the DCT lag was gone. Basically it was a program error that caused the problem and they ended up reprogramming the entire car or at least that's what the work order said. I'm not sure if there was an update involved as my service advisor wasn't really up on things. Anyways I'm a happy camper. I'll have to give it a few weeks to determine whether the stalling has gone away too.

Reminds me of the early Alfa Romeo Selespeeds back in 1999. (sorry US folks - but you missed not much). They had a habit of doing the same thing. It got to the point where the roadside assist guys got trained in how to fix it without having to tow the car......
