My version of the OEM exhaust mod...

I just did this mod and OMG... what a amazing result. Sounds absolutely perfect IMO, much better than i expected and dare I say better than my previous corsa.

I opened it up myself and wrapped the perforated pipes with this exhaust repair stuff you wrap around and with heat (hot air gun) it forms a seal. I then also wrapped each section in aluminum exhaust wrap w clamps for good measure on top. I decided to only put back maybe a 1/3 of the hair.

I then pulled off the exhaust tips and painted the cans matte black with high temp rustoliem engine paint (resists up tto 2k degreees).

As I have a diffuser I also pulled out the stock tips about an inch and had them welded back on.

Polished the tips up:

Opened her up:

Painted (waiting to dry):

I'll try and add video later driving.

I did the same exact method but haven't installed it yet. Wrapped the longer perforated pipes with the thin metal sheet wrap and each one clamped down with three clamps. I guess you can't weld metal that thin or it just melts immediately from the heat.

The shop put in all of the packing though. Did you wrap the pipes with the tiny bit of holes that are already wrapped tightly with that steel wool stuff? I left those alone because I didn't think it'd make an audible difference at all.

People have reported covering up all pipes do produce a louder note. but its not really a big difference at all.

I did similar. Wrapped with titanium heat wrap and safety wired them. Sounds even better because it only cost me $17.

I loved my OEM mod, but the mod bug bit and ended up getting test pipes and BPM stg 2. Not a good combo IMHO

Yeah i had that tune and had to downgrade and lose tp because it was so damn loud.

What about tp and just oem? Would that sound similar to oem mod?

Here is what I used... seals it very well - you just apply heat to it.

I then also wrapped it with aluminum and clamped it off (dont think this is needed - but did for an additional layer):

Has anyone tried just masking 3/4 of the perforated pipes?
