Talking My NEWLY ESS'd Beast

It wasn't supposed to happen like this.

After 3 years with my 2011 M3, I started thinking about which car I wanted to get into next. Porsche, Nissan, Audi were all dancing in my head, tempting me in each and every way.

Anyway long story short, I decided to keep her and slap on an ESS VT2-600.

I havn't posted pictures of my car in awhile, so here's some to show how she's currently sitting.

Here's what has changed

The motor:
Added VT2-600

The interior:
Added an F10 M5 lighted short shift knob. (not pictured).

The exhaust:
I needed something more free-flowing to complement my Eisenmann Race catback. IMG was grateful enough to let me purchase his custom Challenge X-pipe with 4 resonators.

The sound has changed quite dramatically. Usually the Eis Race has a nice deep gurgle from 2k-4k, then as you go high through the RPMs the engine noise takes over.

NOW, once you hit about 3K, a throatier, meaner banshee howl kicks in and only gets louder and more terrifying as you keep your foot on the gas. I am really still in awe at how much different she sounds. Insane. Thanks izz.

The wheels:
I recently ditched my LMs (they are currently for sale in mint condition with new PSS tires, see my other thread), and picked up a SWEET set of 19" HRE P43SC's from fellow forum member j2m.

The wheels came to me in a brushed satin black finish, which was absolutely GEORGEOUS. Unfortunately, I didn't want black wheels on my white car, so I had the color changed to a Battleship Grey.

The Battleship Grey only lasted for a couple weeks. I grew tired of the primer-flat finish and wanted something with more pop. I didn't have anything to contrast against the wheels (no BBK yet), so it just looked like something was missing.

I took the wheels back to my guy and told him I wanted a brushed tinted clear finish like the factory HRE wheels. His team pulled out all the stops, hand-brushing each wheel slowly and deliberately, then finishing them with the same tinted clearcoat used by HRE. The result speaks for itself. Amazing.

In daylight the wheels give off a matte-grey texture, really subtle yet unique. But under fluorescent lights and at nighttime, the wheels take on a shiny texture and give off all kinds of contrast. Overall I couldn't be happier, and I really appreciate the time and the effort their shop put in to make these wheels incredible for me.

I wrapped the wheels in some fat Yoko AD08 265/295. I don't rub at all.

Onto pics! More will come when I get my car lens (70-200 f2.8) back. All of these were taken with a 105mm f2 prime.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks man! Wheels was a long, laborious process figuring out what I really wanted. Glad it turned out the way it did!

Haha, does it really need mentioning? It's fantastic. Wheelspin all through 1st and 2nd if you keep on it, 3rd pulls like a freight train, and 4th gets you to 140+ before you even realize what's going on. Haha those are only words..you need to experience.

Thanks man! I've actually been having problems with my hood latch and the hood not closing all the way without some finagling, so I figured everyone already knows what it looks like anyway. I don't have it painted any fancy colors.
