Another teaser.... Stay tuned... This should blow iDrive away! (which in my opinion iDrive sucks and cost more money)

I could've custom done a trim piece, but the problem is the screen for the stereo is positioned way too low and functionally it's not a great location for it. It would've been lower than the shifter. The CF leather is cool though, it's exactly the same stuff as OEM.

The other custom job like this in the e90post forum moved the climate controls to the center console (by extending its harness wire by wire) and left the screen alone in the dash in a custom faceplate like yours...

I haven't seen that thread. But we also considered that as an option but couldn't find any place to make them look good. I still like that I have my sunglass holder available with this choice. We did consider moving climate controls a bit farther down and angling them at a 45 and "molding" a trim piece into center console. But were unsure of how it would look and the amount of time involved was significantly higher.

thought of that, but figured it was quite unusable if hidden inside the center console.

Sooo sick, maybe try to get rid of some of the shine on the new carbon fibre, so it matches the trim. Other than that, it looks sick man. Cant wait to see it in person.

it does match, it's just the reflection of the flash.

thanks, yea there is a lot of reasons why I take this over iDrive
1) Can't stand the location of iDrive screen, especially at night the constant light source right there drives me crazy as I'm looking out the windshield.
2) Too many menus and not enough buttons to quickly navigate through different options
3) If you include GPS with iDrive, the price is much more than this mod
4) Touch screen on the Eclipse is so easy to use and the GPS has tons of info and options that are only one touch away
5) iPod control is really cool, only a $30 connector as opposed to $400 for iDrive from BMW. Your full iPod is on the screen with all menus and options, including video playback just one touch away.

Only thing that sucks is they haven't developed an adapter to allow the steering wheel controls to be integrated. I'm guessing they won't since it's quite a custom job to fit this into a BMW that probably only a handful of people will do it.
