I-Pod adapter.

I have AUX input only under my armrest, is it difficult to convert that into an I-Pod adapter. Should I go to the dealer to get it swaped out? I got the car used so I didn't have a choice on the options.

You have a used 2010? How many miles are on it?

My understanding is the dealer retrofit is expensive and very involved. I would just get an auxilliary cable to the headphone jack and use the ipod to choose your music. The other option would be to go with an aftermarket solution.

Yea it was one month old with about 1800 miles. Previous owner had to let it go due to finances.

I was really hoping it would be something fairly simple.

Wow, just barely past the first service. Too bad for them but lucky for you.

Assuming you have the idrive and want to control your music from it, there is another option. You could get a big thumb drive and put a bunch of music on it. I think it will only sample at 128k so no need to put a bigger bit rate than that on it. There may be a maximum size thumb drive you can use but not sure. By the way, there is a usb port for it in the glove compartment if you haven't already found it.

Nope I don't have an Idrive, it's pretty much something I don't really need considering I live about 30 min. away from the ring

I think you can still control the music on a thumb drive from the stereo then.

Must be nice being that close to the ring.

I would need a USB port for that right...I did not see one of those anywhere in my car.

Yes, to use a thumb drive, you need a USB port. With no I drive and no I-Pod adapter, you are out of luck.

Did you check in the glove compartment? I have one there to load music to the hard drive. I guess you wouldn't have it unless you had the idrive.
