Race the Base 2012

I also posted this in the "Non-BMW Forum" but I know there are several local M3 owners here that might be interested and I thought that the general crowd here would appreciate an event like this.

So not sure how many of you remember buddy that crashed his Enzo into the ocean in Newfoundland.

He has a charity fundraising race weekend set up late this summer here at one of the Air Force bases in Alberta.

His Enzo in a sprint against an F-18 Hornet.

There is also a wide open series of events that include a drag, top speed run, drift show, and donut show. All funds go to charity!

Sounds like a fantastic weekend with some incredible cars. I'm tempted to have some fun in the IS F but it's supposed to go back around that time. Even though it would be "slow" in comparison to many of the entrants, this may be enough incentive to participate....or maybe find something faster.

I participated in the last one held in 2010 with my 08 M5 - hit 320 km/h (HUD speed) twice before hitting the braking zone. Great fun & a Fantastic event!

Besides the benefits for the charities, we got an RCMP escort to one of the local towns that was hosting the gala dinner at the end of the event...at....ahem, a slightly higher-than-posted speed limit.

Brilliant time, brilliant people! Winners all around! If I wasn't living in autobahn-land, I would seriously consider going again!
