Headphones

Just wondering if anyone on here is into headphones?

What do you got?

Right now i have Klipsch S4's which i would recommend for a nice first step into higher end headphones. Such a huge difference going from $10-30 headphones like sony or skullcandy into the $80 range.

Im trying to find a new pair though and think im gonna pull the trigger on the SE530's

I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of headphones, but I did pick these up for working out, seemed to have good reviews:

Klipsch Custom 1. They were on sale @TigerDirect for only 50 bucks, retails for around $129.99

I'm not a huge audiophile though.

I use Sennheiser HD800's with a Lehmann Black Cube Linear Amplifier, HD650's with a Corda Symphony.2, AKG K701's with a Creek Music Hall (with stepped AC adapter), and Beyerdynamic DT770s.

Bose QC15. Tried to stay away from Bose (no highs, no lows, it's Bose, right?), but for noise cancelling, everything I tried was second rate to the bose. For DJ headphones, I have a pair of Sony Studio headphones that were $150 10 years ago.

Haha thanks. The HD800's sound great...but are not worth anything close to $1400...maybe $500. I am going to sell that amp+can combo on Head.Fi and make my 650's my main pair again as they sound 90% as great (soundstage isn't as wide and the 650's lack warmth)

I do not have any experience with the SE530's because I never got into earbuds...but my friend got the E2Cs as his first "audiophile" product and swears by Shure. I'd suggest going to Head.Fi and searching for others' opinions/analysis.

And finally, I am just an audiophile. I play guitar and drums; and on occasion will help friends with music production issues...but just as a hobby.

I love Shure. I used to be a big Sennheiser guy, but they are notorious for a lack of lows.

But what kind of fitment do you want? In ear, on ear, over ear, etc...

Also price range.

I'm rocking some Shure SE310s! I love them. I switched from shitty $300 Sennheiser to this pair that I found a year ago for cheap on ebay. It's amazing the difference.

Sennheiser are notorious for their veil and lack of warmth because people don't proper amplifiers. Get an nice amplifier (or build one) that can truly drive these power hungry cans and they really wake up...the difference is night and day.

If I could get earbuds to stay in my ear, I'd love to try some Shure's some day...everyone seems to love them. Ultimate Ears also has some good individually molded buds that I may try in the future.

I have a set of Klipsch Image S4s, Superfi Pro 5's, and Sennheiser HD 595 driven by a home built PPA pimeta v2 based headphone amp with 3 Burr Brown 627OPA's. I used to have a set of Grado SR80's but sold them because they were just too bright, not comfortable enough.
