Are my pedals off?

Hi guys,

Do you think my pedals are mis-aligned from the attached pic? My only alternate thought is perhaps the perspective of the photos / differing height of the clutch / brake pedal makes it look so.

(And no i don't have access to the car at the moment hence why I can't see it in person)

Cheers

this just looking at it makes me confused. break pedal does look a little off, but not bad at all. Really like the look of it for sure.

all 3 pedals look to be about 3 feet too far to the right.

Yeah, they're on the wrong side of the car. Are those M Sport pedals?

brake pedal is tilted to the right. that would drive me nuts looking at it. At least you don't have to look at it all the time

Surely it's an easy fix? Wonder what the problem would be... Get back to Aus (In the USA atm) in 9 days.

Same here . It's tilted quite a bit, and it's the freaking brake pedal, which is metal, so it'd be a b*tch to lengthen the holes (all minus 1) in the appropriate direction to tilt the pedal the other way so it's even. But I'd definitely do it. Mine was way less than yours, but that didn't stop me until it was perfect . Good luck.

Hey, why do you have a crappy dead pedal??? Mine is way nicer. Hope BMW is not cheaping out on that now.

It's how they do the dead pedals for the AUS market. I actually prefer it believe it or not.

Shit news about the brake pedal. So BMW Mini Parts effectively sold me a pedal set with not enough screws, and a brake pedal that is warped?

The pedals look great, though I agree with elp jc. The brake pedal is a little tilted, but it's not that noticeable. How difficult was the install? I've been considering getting aluminum pedals myself.

I didn't do it myself, it's currently at the dealership - I am overseas and taking delivery when I get back in a week.

It's kind of disappointing though. I ordered from BMW Mini Parts and the techs at my dealership had to drive to a bolt shop to get more bolts to complete the install. Now looking at that photo I see it's slightly tilted. It's not really that big of a deal, but you would think selling OEM parts they would get it right. I am yet to email them.

On the whole though, it's small potatoes. Even if it can't be fixed I am still going to enjoy the car. I have attached another pic for your enjoyment. Let me know what you guys think. Can't wait!

Are the pedals really off or did they drill the holes off center for the cover. You have to punch and drill on flat metal surface for that kit. I have installed those in past and they could have easily shewed holes.

It also begs the questions why would you not just do it yourself later instead of leaving in the hands of some Mini guys?

Are you sure you had to drill? Mine already had holes in them.

And 'some Mini guys' is actually a BMW Bodyshop - They have fitted all my stuff in the past (It's kind of hard to fit these parts when you are 12,000km away) without a hitch so it would be hard to believe it would be them.

When I installed them on my e46M3 I had to drill and your kit looks identical to mine.

I just pulled off the rubber cover on my e92M3 and it's not pre-drilled. I'm 100% certain that the holes were drilled crooked.

If they are only installing the covers why is there a hammer & air-tool in the area

Ok my mistake. So if they are off, is it something that the body shop can fix?

Not really. They could make the holes larger but the holes are already pushed out to the edges. I would take delivery of it "as is" and then decide later if it bothers you. You can always buy a replacement brake pedal for $25 and drill/fit the cover outside of the car. That is much easier. Replacing the pedal is not hard as well, I've done it.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah will just make do as is, the whole set only cost me 60 pounds shipped so even if it pissed me off enough to order a new set it will only be like $100.

Having said that, i wonder if maybe it's just the angle of the photo and potential camera trickery. Either way, have emailed my SA who's a good friend and will see what he says.
