Is my shift knob supposed to illuminate?

Hey party peeps,

Maybe a noobie question, but the title kind of says it all. Purchased my e92 6MT used (2011) and the center grid on the top of the knob doesn't light up like the dash. I keep seeing all of these pictures of other M3s with illuminating knobs and I'm wondering if that's aftermarket or if I need to check wiring on mine?

Thanks!

Yes, it should. If it doesn't and you're under warranty, take her in. If you're not under warranty, you might pull the knob and make it's still plugged and the wire for the lighted isn't severed.

Good luck!

Do the F10 knob upgrade, problem solved.

It depends if you have the stock shift knob or not. The previous user could have replaced with the ZHP knob.
