I'm on NT01s because they are decent but inexpensive tires which hold up well. And I'm cheap. Really not trying to cut lap times by modding. Trying to fine tune some things and start to left foot brake. Might even go back to street tires.

The plan is to hit the ceiling on the lap time with the nannies on then turn them off and SLOW DOWN and slowly work my way back up to an even faster lap time. All I know is one key phrase....DO NOT LIFT or else....

I would think it would be easier the other way. If you learn to reach the limit with nannies they are likely artificial and masking all sorts of little mistakes. Then you will have to relearn rather than ramping it up gradually with them off. I did the same thing initially. Drove my e90 for some time before I just decided to turn it all off, had to re-sort what I was doing and couldn't just hammer it out of corners and not worry. With my e46 never have used traction at all its useless and makes car undrivable anyway. You have a larger investment to protect but making catches yourself and really feeling the limit is very rewarding, even when coming up to full pace and learning.

I see what 1MOREMOD described soooo many times. Guy's rely on the nannies. When the nannies come off and you're in a faster run group with the pressure on...its usually a recipe for something to happen. Oh...I went through the same thing. A quick way to get used to having the nannies off is to do a drift practice. You'll learn car control really fast. An example of just staying on the throttle... An example of lifting when the car is starting to get away from you and bring it back the other way...

9 out of 10 hate the r888 Honesty I don't think they are suited for a car as heavy as the E92 M3. How many positive reviews have you seen for the r888 ........now how positive for the nt01? The NT01 is a much better choice. The BFG R1 would be a tire to consider once you have tried the nt01.

search for a local drifting event. Most will be a practice event. Some may have instructors.
