I can't drive my M with hole in front bumper anymore!!!!!!
I live in Federal Way and it's hard to find body shop who will fill my front license hole...I called couple of body shops around here and least expensive body shop quoted me $400.00 and leave car for 3days. I could find couple of people in forum says they paid $100 and $200.
+ any recommend retailer in south side? I've looked at couple of retail shop in Federal Way/Tacoma...their website doesn't look professional as shops in Seattle/ Bellevue (ex. northwestautosalon, Metropolitan Detail) |

I don't believe Metro Detail does bodywork. Take it to Queen City in Redmond. They do a lot of my friend's exotic cars.

At the risk of committing a minor thread hi-jack, what is the experience of WA state M3post-ers with running without a front license plate? Anyone ever get pulled-over or receive a ticket for non compliance? I just took delivery of my new car last Sunday and fortunately BMW Bellevue didn't mount the front plate holder. But the SA did tell me it's a $120 fine if caught. Thus far I'm opting to leave it off.

I live here and haven't had an issue with no plate for 3 years. Only been pulled over once though for another offense and nothing was said about the plate.

I found one member here in the forum that posted and DYI stuff, concerning holes in the front. I'm going to experiment myself, looks very simple just time consuming 2-3 days butit's not expensive, simple tools and plug, Dr color chip and some grit paper. My next project

~$400 isn't that bad considering they will fill the holes and have to repaint the whole bumper. $100-200 seems too low for good work.

I agree with this. I had bumper holes filled on a Honda a few years back. The paint was non-metallic, so that that made things a bit easier. While it looked OK, it was not absolutely perfect. I think it cost me $175.

Lived here for almost 8 years and never had issues with no front license plate.
For the cheaper route, I would agree Bumper Plugs is the way to go. $400 is a decent price. Get it done right the first time or you could end up spending more to fix up a poor job. |

I have no front plate since 2009, cops never said anything even when I got pulled over for negligent driving for going 80 in a 35.(just glad they didn't give me wreckless and arrest/tow my ass)

http://www.bumperplugs.com/ As far as no front plate goes, I've never had any issues. Don't have one on the MDX now, didn't on the M3, and haven't ran one on any of my other vehicles. From what I've heard, down south isn't bad, but if you're up in the Mount Vernon/Bellingham area, the cops are very strict about it.
