New ///M3 Owner - Columbus, OH

Just picked up a 2011, 10k mile, DCT, Comp-Pack E92 M3. Car is AW/Black, and is fully loaded sans sunroof. Familiar with E92's as our garage was previously graced with one; a DGM/Saddle 08' xi/manual which my better half recently traded for an EBII/Black F30.

Have had several enthusiast cars over the years, and look forward to stacking this brilliant piece of machinery against their memory, as well as making new ones with this community.

I will post photos of the car once it returns from being clear bra'd, tinted, and outfitted with some other bits.

Congrats! I was behind an AW around 270 north a few days ago. I have a Melbourne red e92 with black Forgestar wheels. Love it. If you ever have any questions feel free to PM me!

Thanks for your reply, and offer to help. I'm sure I'll have quite a few questions. Does the Ohio group ever get together for group drives, etc.?

No problem. I don't see many group runs around here. Buckeye chapter of BMW CCA is fairly active, although I don't participate as much as I'd like to. Cars and coffee does some cool stuff, but it's once a month. The Hocking Hills run will be this fall, that's cool.

Thanks for the good info. I sometimes go to C&C - saw a beautiful M4 there this weekend.

Regarding the Hocking Hills Run - is there info posted about that?

Have a torn ACL/MCL at the moment which is preventing me from doing many of the things I enjoy - so the drive would be a nice distraction.

Yikes, not cool. Check them out on Facebook, doesn't look like their website is complete.
Fyi, there are two cars and coffees, one every week at lennox and one every month. The monthly group is the one that does the Hocking Hills cruise. If I hear about it I'll let you know.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

So far, I've only done the basics as I've been travelling for business and a wedding over the past few weeks.

Those include; OEM Black Kidneys, Lux Reverse & H8 V4, and have the full clear bra, and window tint forthcoming in a few weeks.

The only 'flaw' with the car was a rear wheel which was curbed. I have the refinish scheduled for the week of the 25th, but unsure if I should just take this opportunity to have the ZCP wheels refinished in a different color. I'm thinking a darker metallic grey to match the carbon roof. Thoughts?

Where are you getting the wheel fixed, Wheel Medic I presume? Would they fo the color change? I was thinking about taking my Forgestars in there for a refinish.
Also, ever hit mid-ohio?

JD3 -

Thanks for the post. I have driven on Mid-Ohio several times with previous S2000's, a 911, and a Cayman.

I've done the Wheel Medic thing before, and honestly, didn't have the best experience most recently. They powder coated a set of OEM wheels 'Grand Prix White' I had for a 'Grand Prix White'/Red S2000, and they came out great. However, they most recently re-did a set of 19's for our F30 M-Sport, and really did a poor job.

The outfit I'm using this time comes highly recommended by some other friends with BMW's, and is the only company Kelly uses to match the 'Hyper-Silver' color for the ZHP's like mine. They're called 'Alloy Wheel Repair'. The owner, Brad, is a great guy.

Regardless, I'm 80% certain at this point that I'm going to have them re-do my ZHP wheels in gloss 'ferric' gray. I feel like it will look sharp with the carbon roof.

They charge $100 a wheel, and do everything mobile. I'll let you know how they turn out!

What color are you thinking you'll do your wheels?

BW

Yeah, please let me know. I was thinking of doing an extremely dark gold/copper. Basically black, with a little gold or copper in it.

I'm doing the NASA event the first weekend in October. Great track, it will be my second HPDE. Love them.

Sounds like a blast. I'll most likely partake in the Chin Motorsports track day(s) at Mid-Ohio next May. What are the dates of the October event? Might come and watch.
