Blacked out my wheels!
I've always wanted to have black wheels, even before I got my M. But stumbling upon a Plasti Dip thread on the forum, I thought I would give it a shot.
Wheels look awesome I think! I love the whole look even though many cars on this forum have the same look. I also had the guys at DYC black out my side fender chrome and my rear emblem. Thanks to Bennett and Fonzie at DYC! Now onto the pics! Before After Any and all comments are welcome |

Must say that I like it before hand. The black wheels really hide the lines of the car and just don't look as good. Though, I'm sure it's different in person and the camera does not do it justice.

I hate blacked out wheels without a contrasting color. They disappear. You can't see anything but a black hole. A white stripe around the edge would make a world of different and bring them out.

Thanks! They are actually not as black as they look in the pics. In person you can see the wheel and it doesn't look like a "black hole". |

Get them to pull the black off of the ///M on the wheels and they'll be perfect! They look good though!

After seeing this I'm pissed that I didn't just Plasti dip my comp wheels instead of spending nearly 3k on a set of matte black wheels and tires!

Nice I did the same thing but painted them. I went gloss black and it came out very nice. You can still see the lines of the car IMO if you have aggressive wheels. These being stock wheels I like them both ways. Usually I am not a fan of the 50 year old + look of silver (I mean this in a joking way) but both ways look good here. However I do like Mercury Silver but rarely see them.
In the end its what you like. If you like black better then roll with it. Last edited by Endless619; 07-12-2012 at 10:04 PM.. |

Looks good and you handled the less than necessary comments very well.
I just powder coated our M-sports on AW and am also very happy with the results. They're just stickers. Get new ones...I could have given him mine...lol. |
