Mike, I do have good news on both. Unfortunate, I will be banned every time, when I do post details about Akrapovic systems here. You do have my mail details and phone number, so if you have questions feel free to contact me.

My big question is why they put the cat's downstream of the O2 sensors?

That is good information but I have been driving the car cruising and pushing it hard for 5 days now. and Everyday I check with my BT tool for fault codes. I put about 60kms a day on average so pretty soon I will know if I get a CEL or not.

The further the cats are downstream, the more power you gain.

You need at least 2.000km - even more - to get reliable results...

What kind of update are you referring to?

This exhaust system doesn't have primary cats. (at all)

These hardware 'gimmicks' will never be 100% reliable with our finicky emissions software monitoring. (trust me on that)

Software is the only safe bet to avoid a CEL. Period.

"deleater" fix on the way

Got an email today from the seller saying they finally received a CEL fix ("deleater" per Akra) from Slovenia via Germany yesterday and is being shipped out to me today. At one point they called it a beta but the manual now incorporates this part so it appears to be what will be coming to the US in the future.

I'll post up the parts and amended manual when they arrive, hopefully it will take care of this small but potentially problematic issue and complete this near perfect system.

FYI, the part is installed at the OBDII port and not the sensors and supposedly will automatically clear the CEL/SES without a reader or tool.

I personally would be surprised if this would work out with your US spec cars, since normally you are getting your CEL after latest 50miles. The Euro specs are lasting up to 12k km before getting the CEL. The deleater is still under R&D and just is clearing the fault code with each engine start, so if your individual legs are below 30miles you should never see a CEL
Software is the only reliable solution!
But maybe you are lucky - letīs hope the best!

Agreed.
Software is the best way, plus you will get more power out of the set up.

It's worth a shot. I'm installing it tomorrow. I know software is the best solution but then the risk to completely losing the warranty is much larger if a problem arises. The risk reward equation is not there for me...even with the understanding that any exhaust is potentially problematic when it comes to warranty.

The new installation manual attached.

Easy install. The CEL/SES light went off after .5 miles of a 44 mile lap around Austin, no light....yet. I'll post up again in a couple hundred miles.

So will the "deleter" clear other engine faults as well? Or just ones related to the O2 sensor?

I don't know the answer to that. I have the BT tool but didn't check codes before installing the delete-R.
