$49,900 for 2008 m3?

does this sound right. i contacted pentagon car sales in regards to pricing for a 335i and got an offer for $37,050 which is a great deal. then i asked about the 2008 M3 and got a quote of $49,900 with production start in the spring of 08 for advanced order.

this seems like a sweet deal and is seriously makin me considering the wait. what do you guys think?

remember this is military special.

For the benefit of our friends over the water, I hope you all realise that US$ price is less than the GB£ list price over here i.e. HALF-PRICE!!!

Those prices are insane!!! If true, we need to get together and start a car business... I could resell fifty 335i sedans/coupes in like 10mins at even 5K over those prices.

The price quoted for the new M3 is what the 335i is going for here in SoCal. And conversely, the 335i price quote is what a lowly 328i is going for here.

I don't know about military pricing, but that doesn't sound right at all for the public offerings. That's what the base 2006 M3 list price was. There is no way the 2008 M3 will be priced below $55k for the rest of us. I'd say jump on that offer if they can honor it!

Who quoted you?
I assume it was BMW military and diplomatic sales administed through a dealer ship in UAE. Did you answer an add in the Middle East Stars & Stripes?

well i am currently deployed in Iraq and im not sure if that factors into the pricing. I saw an add in Stars & stripes and went to website to fill out some questions and got a response. then i inquired the M3 usually these types of deal go for dealer invoice not msrp. at least thats what i gathered when inquiring about the audi S5.

i really cant decide what to get now. if they can honor this price i will put my deposit down tomorrow! and wait it all out

You can do that.

I bought mine just after I got back....but did not use the military sales program.

You can save a good ammount of money akin to taking european delivery & sales tax because your gone for well over the 149 days required. Dont expect them to budge off the price. Its already discounted and your getting yours "made to order".

essentially a proxy takes delivery in your name and they ship it to any dealership you want.

one thing to consider is they will not take a trade in.

I recommend financing with www.penfed.org they have the best intrest rates.

I have known a couple of people who have purchased this way and are very happy.

The price is correct. I'm currently stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany and have been dealing with Pentagon Car Sales. Starting price is $49,900...reservation for a production slot is 10% down. I've already made my $4,990 deposit and am now waiting patiently for them to get their hands on their official options list to start adding the goodies. I'm told production for deliveries for the K-town area will begin in January...deliveriess starting by March.

im not worried about trade in.. and i will be paying cash! thanks for the info.. this is sweet!

so you take European delivery but really the proxy is? and then they ship it to me? i get the deal because of the military thing and sales tax?

so its all legit?

Absolutley....

If you think your being taken to the cleaners by an arab car dealer...check out the BMW MSP site.

Pentagon car sales also offers a similar program...the previous post refered to it.

http://www.bmwmsp.com/

Its good to hear the base price under or around 50K

Also

they will send you an excel spread sheet listing options/prices and a PDF flyer showing prices and options.....if you could post them here that would be awsome.

The guy emailed me at my .mil account and I lost them.

True dat

my Pentagon Car Sales rep Terry Haverty confirmed the 2008 m3 price. He has no details on what standard kit is for US spec M3's though. Will get more info soon. I have been dealing with Terry for may years and have bought 2 previous cars from him and he is topnotch.

So if the 335i MSRPs @ $40,800 and you can get it @ $37,050 thats a 9% discount. That means the M3 will MSRP @ $54,000-$55,000. That is Awesome!!! :rocks: hehe Ill have mine in no time!

Military Sales

NewB,
Just curious. If the production starts in January, why does it take until March for delivery when you're in germany?
P.S. I bought a 2006 650i through Pentagon Car Sales and was very happy. There is a shipping charge to get it to the U.S. as well as import taxes and for me California use tax of about 7%. So my 650i price was $67,450 quoted but $72, 500 after all the other costs.

base price on the old one was the same price as the bigger motor E46 convertible

sounds like they've kept the M3 at about the same place as the 335 convertible
