Start stop in US

One other thing - it is very unlikely the US M3 would get start/stop because the United States EPA test does not "give credit" for start stop - the test they use apparently doesn't have that many stops, or perhaps none at all - I am not entirely certain.

Of course start stop would raise your actual mileage, assuming you use it, but this doesn't help the window sticker or help BMW NA reduce their fines.

I suspect the European test does give reasonable credit for start stop or else the technology wouldn't be on various BMW models.

Cheers!

+1 I'm certainly not down with start-stop. Also, do you think the wheels look too similar to the ones that come on a 328? (style 197)

But with the DCT, you don't have to hold your foot on the brake. Stop, release the pedal...it doesn't go until you hit the gas. How would S/S work in this case?

+1 agreed. If you see where that starter is located, it's not easy to replace.

Yes, it can be deactivated via a button found in the center console (between the heated seat buttons in pre 2011 cars).
South - Is this like the M button or fog lights where it resets every time you start the car. I would hate to have to press the M button and now a second button every time I start the car...

Ugh... Hope its not coming to the US. and +1 on the engine wear...

Its the blue color that's killing the competition package! CF looks best on white not blue. I think ill be getting the splitters. And rear spoiler(might paint it white). But I must admit I'm disappointed by the wheels. Also, how do they get a 10mm drop? Can I just change the springs?

One more thing, seems like the M3 only gets the rear-lift, the headlights are unchanged.

Front splitters look YUCK! The boot spoiler is OK, not bad. I prefer the ERICSSON boot.

Don't worry about the Start/Stop function.

The system works pretty well. The engine turns off IF you put it in neutral and release the clutch.
If you keep it down, the engine won't turn off and you can take off immediately.
And if you sense the lights are about to turn green, you simple put your foot on the clutch and the engine starts again.

You CAN turn it off with a simple touch of a button.
It doesn't work if the engine isn't hot enough and it doesn't work if the temperature outside is below 3°C

Hope this info helps, it works great on my BMW 1

That's the 6MT, but what about the DCT? You don't have any control over the clutch.

Yep and that is why you will not see it on a US non-hybrid. Start/Stop is EU only. BMW needs to do these things for emissions numbers, just the brain trust in the US has not realized that start/stop helps lower emissions. The 08-10 M3s do not even have brake energy regeneration like the ROW has... when BMWNA releases the official info we will learn if the BER is added for the US, I am almost willing to bet my car that auto start/stop will not be in the US as it is expensive and gives them no benefit what-so-ever in emissions which is the only reason to offer it.

All the CF pieces (minus the roof) are accessories and not part of any package or from the factory.

The ZCP wheels are 19X9 and 19X10 from everything I have.... but who knows.

The M3 has never received a headlight facelift throughout production, seems that trend still applies here.

Taillights did change to LED on the e46 models in mid-2003 to LED.

Thanks for Posting the Info

I bet the wheels and spoilers all become hot in the aftermarket.

So now we've got three names for the same thing: ZCP, ZHP and 7MA. WTF?

I guess that's supposed to be Le Mans? Is that a CG rendering?

I'm afraid that's the case. If I remember correctly, you'd have press that button every time you start the car.

Best regards,
