BMW probably didn't want to redesign the front fendter and front bumper. I was interested in the 4 door but the lack of carbon roof had push me otherwise

I agree completely- would have been a much more consistent move to keep the E90 headlights. Contrary to what was posted before, the E36 M3 sedan's front end was slightly different from the coupe counterpart, in keeping with the lesser siblings. This whole thing is exactly as you stated- a mess.

I actually like the "coupe" front end on the photos of the E90 M3. Overall, I think the coupe has a better looking front end, but I prefer the middle and rear sections of the sedan.

Based on these spy photos, the E90 M3 is the best of both worlds (for me, at least).

I guess I find it surprising how polarized people are by headlights when you have that huge wide mouth bass look mucking things up either way.

Not that that would effect my purchase decision one bit since its the performance I care about most.

I just think the e90 M's have too rounded of a front end. I feel like they should be more flat like the e30's.

Secondly, I cannot beleive there isn't a huge uproar over the E90's interior. It absolutly ugly and non sporty. BMW's use to have a driver-centric "cockpit", not this Chevy Malibu open strait dash(circa 1999). The e46 interior is superior and the main reason I havnt bought 335.

I was holding out, hoping that the M3 would be a world-class cockpit... unfortunately the Ford Fusion has a better interior design than the E90's.

E46:

e90
