Just Got My M3 And Want To Track It (OK during break in?)

Sup Fellas, Just Got My M About 2 Weeks Ago And Have 650 Miles On It. I Am Invited To A Track Even On The 23 And Dont Think I Will Hit My Break In Period Miles To Do The Service On The Car. I Was Wondering If Anyone Has Tracked Their Car During The Break In Period And If It Is Possible To Take It To The Dealership And Get The Break In Period Service Earlier So That I Could Track My Car. I Would Greatly Appreciate Any Feedback On This Little Predicament I Am Having. Thank You

It shouldn't be that hard to put 400 miles on in the next couple of days and have the service done this week.

+1. If you can capitalize the first letter of every word, 400 miles in a few days is cake!

+1. It shouldn't be hard to do. Now, if you still cannot run it for 400 more, I'd recommend you do the service anyways.
Bottom line; I would not track it before its first service.
Good luck and be safe!

Even after the initial 1200 miles I think you aren't supposed to use WOT for an extended period of time (do a search on this topic because it's been discussed before - here's one link http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=606008 see comments by JAJ). If you short shift (don't be bouncing off the rev limiter!) and lift on long straights you should be fine if the 1200 mile service has been performed, only after driving 1200 miles - good luck finding a dealership willing to perform the 1200 mile service early, especially if you've only driven ~700 miles.

My understanding was that after the 1,200 mile break in that you could raise the RPM up 1,000 for every 300 miles.

There will be plenty of time to track your beast. Take your time and break her in nice and easy then have at it.

Lol The Reason Why Every Other Word Is Capital Is Because I Type Is Caps Lock. I Do Think I Could Hit Another 400 Miles By The Track Day But That Still Wont Get Me To 1200. I Was Reading Some Other Posts About Changing Fluids For The Brakes And Etc. Some People Say Its A Good Idea And Some People Say Its Not Necessary. Any Ideas On That? BTW MY CAR IS DCT SO ABOUT THE SHIFTING YOUR TALKING ABOUT SHORT SHIFTING AND LONG SHIFTING WHAT DO YOU MEAN?

Sounds like you're super impatient. There are track days all the time, just wait for the next one.

The BimmerFile boys talked to the engineers about the 1,200 mile break-n (for the 1M).
Synopsis - Follow the rules, from the sticker on the top of your windscreen.
