cop pulls me over ...m3 curse ?

try to make this short as possible ...going back home from the gym, motorcycle cop pulls me over for expired dealer plates ....he asks for my drivers license and i forgot my drivers license at home ...he ends up giving me a fix it ticket for no drivers license (no big deal) RIGHT? i sign the ticket and head home a week later i get another ticket in th email for a fix it ticket for my TINT!!! he never even complained about my tint in person ...can i fight this ? the car is a dealer car.

if the original ticket he gave you as a copy does not list the offense for tint, I think you have a case. If it does, not so much.

my original ticket he gave me that i signed and thumb printed says fix it ticket for drivers license ...so that means i go to the local police station and show then i have my drivers license ....no where on the ticket it says for a tint ..if i do fight it ...what am i going to tell the judge? ...isnt it still illegal to have tint (i have 5% tint)?

I used to have a Jetta for several years before i got my M. I actually sped and generally disobeyed way more laws in the Jetta than I have in the M3, but as soon as I started driving her around i got ticket after ticket for the tiniest offenses. Going 7mph over the limit, and so far the most ridiculous, "having fog lights on when there is no fog."

If yours is a e9x, you should be able to fight that ticker as we don't have fog lights equipped on our cars, at least when they left the factory.

the one thing I don't miss about CA, the anal retentive 5-Os. you have great weather and all, but damn, Cops are hunting and certainly strict on the smallest of infractions - especially with imported sports cars.

Well to clarify I have gotten 2 "warnings" about my license having the wrong address on it and one of those you have 30 days to fix it things. I just ignored it and keep going about my day. I have since gotten pulled over for speeding and those 2 previous warnings are never mentioned. I did finally change the address on my license but only because I wanted to buy a new shotgun, not for the cops.

I got pulled over yesterday in the '13 M5. Was calmly heading to the dealer for a quart of oil.

Said he paced me "at about 50". I was going with the flow of traffic. Pain in the ass.

Decent guy though, let me go with a no proof of insurance ticket. So I'll just waste a few hours going to the court and showing proof. I'm probably lucky I didn't have the card on me or he would have probably ticketed me for speeding. They always want to hit you with something. He was trying desperately to get me for no plates but the car was too new

I got pulled over the day that I bought my M headed home in Knoxville. Pulled out of the middle lane with the cruise control on, going with the flow of traffic. Camry on my left and a semi on my right in fairly heavy traffic. The cop walks up and says "first off I want to say that this is one beautiful machine!" Followed by a few other comments and compliments about everything from the car to living in Colorado. 15 minutes later I was signing a ticket. He was about as nice as an asshole can be haha. He "did me a favor by only citing me for 9 over". I guess a semi going the same speed as an M3 on the highway must be safe and the M3 isn't. Or, it's because I had the shiny blue car... First ticket in years, so I can't be too mad. Especially for all the times I've tested a lack of speed limiter on my 135 in the middle of no where with no one around. I'm glad I've never been caught in the act of that...

lol its up to the cops discretion to enforce those stupid laws. Some enjoy the power trip of ruining someones day. In the end, LEOs are nothing but revenue collectors for the state. If I was a cop I wouldnt worry about petty details like that and would actually worry about keeping my community safe.

That's what happens when all of the government entities are out of money . . .

True enough, but then my do they never "randomly" pull over the Hyundai Sonata??? Since, in many cases (as far as I can tell), traffic tickets seem like an exercise in revenue generation, of course they are going to pull over the drivers who can pay the most and who have more productive things to do than fight a $200-300 ticket.

I actually wish they would write many more of those. I do love be blinded by some tool who feels the need to run with "fog lights" on at all times.
