yessss

so....i went to the BMW dealer last friday with my friend, and the salesman gave us a demo(he drove, cuz we're 16). BMW is taking this guy to the carolinas to test the 135 and the new m3 on a track so you know he can drive. man oh man did he let us know what kind of power and handling capabilities the 135 has!!! it convinced me that i want one. i talked to my parents about it and they said that depending on good grades and other stuff they'll think about it when i graduate. (no im not a spoiled brat, i dont get spoon fed)

If they buy you a 135, you better be getting a full-ride to Harvard.

WOW, lucky shts. My first car I PAYED FOR. And 6 months later my DAD said "SELL IT OR MOVE OUT" It was a 1971 Chevelle LT-1 350 Muncie 4 speed. I sold it that night to a gas station for 1/10th what I PAYED FOR IT.

MUST BE NICE. YOU better appreciate it.

i have a 3.6something out of a 4 point scale at a very competitive high school *see Clements High in Sugar Land, TX* and am definitely planning on raising that more. trying to get into the top 10 percent. i guess you could consider me a nice kid. i always listen to my parents *almost * and do mostly whatever they ask. so yeah ive been obedient over the years

and another note: where should i learn to drive stick? at a performance driving school like you said? dont really know any in my area.

Have you heard of B.F. Terry High School? That's where I went. As far as learning to drive stick at a Performance School, that's not what the school is for. You need to have basics down first and then think of going. Find a friend or family member with a manual vehicle to learn on. Go to an empty parking and learn there. I'm sure that's where most of us have been at one point in our younger days.

my 'rents are boring and drive autos. my dad WOULD drive stick but the repeated motions trigger his back pain. and i can only imagine what would happen if my mom drove stick. she close the garage door on her accord once.

and yeah ive heard of that school

My parents have never even owned a new car themselves let alone bought me one. *

Personally I think the 135i is too much car for a teenager. If I had a car like this when I was 16 I probably would have got into a lot of trouble.

Dan

* I know I've mentioned my Dad's Lotus Elise on here before, so just to clear this up... I grew up with my Mother and Step father, they are who I refer to when mentioning "my parents". My Father worked in the car business most of his life so he's had a ton of new cars. Although he still never bought me one.

This is way too powerful of a car for someone with no experience driving to have. If I had a car this fast when I was 16 I would probably be dead or severly disfigured.

Congratulations on your great taste in cars! If your parents end up getting you a 135i just be sure to reward them by driving safely and not getting yourself killed!

I too would most likely have gotten into trouble with such a powerful car as my first car right out of high school. You will just have to be very careful. I got my used 95 Prelude from my parents...but that wasnt until my 2nd year in college (took me a bit to find a used car I liked). I still have it 6 years later and am looking to get a new car, which will be the 135.

Gang - I have no reason to doubt that SLrocket is anything other than what he purports to be. However, we've been through this, "I'm 16 and my parents are buying me a 135i!!" stuff before only to find out we'd been had by a 'troll'.

Please bear that in mind when replying.
