Got this code on my new to me e90 m3

0027B0 injection control valve

Some details about the car.

08 e90 with a VF650 blower attached to it 6 speed manual gearbox

It has the BPM tune loaded on it.

The issue I am having is when I floor the car in any gear the rpms climb to about 5.5k and then the engine makes that detonation/misfire sound and the rpms start moving up super slow to redline with no power.

Also. Once in a while if I tap the gas pedal to rev it a little bit it hangs at 1200 rpms for a little bit.

No "service engine soon" light. No lights at all. But I scanned the car with the Carley app and that's what I get

0027B0 injection control valve

If the car is misfiring after 5500 and you're holding that to redline, you're asking for a disaster.

Check plugs coils and injectors

I was just wondering why he's pushing to redline if he hears detonation.

Okay are you guys done criticizing me? Seems like every time someone posts something you have these losers that want tell you that you suck at life.

It's my car. I should be able to floor it to redline. It doesn't go into limp mode or come up with any errors on the dash.

So if anyone has anything to help me out then please share and I appreciate it.

If you want to be a baby on the internet & say some bullshit to make yourself feel better then keep it to yourself.

So you want help but but when experienced people like Mike Benvo, who works on BMWs for a living to say the least, give you help you don't want it? I don't think it's the commenters that are being babies...

Like Benvo said, start with plugs and coils... I am surprised that you don't have any misfire codes, but then again, I am not real familiar with the BPM tune and what it suppresses...

Not criticizing you in any way... But if the car doesn't run right or is making strange noises, you should avoid driving it (let alone flooring it to redline) until those issues are resolved. Otherwise you can turn something that may not be serious and is easily fixable, into something catastrophic.

Normally if there is a serious issue, you would get limp mode and errors, but this isn't always the case.

Please make sure to fully diagnose the car before driving it, especially in boost and at higher RPM.

Thats a pretty piss poor attitude, besides if a car has a engine problem you dont keep thrashing it and say its ok because you should be able to. If you have a broke ankle do you also keep running on it because you should be able to??? Really, think for a min.

Take Mikes advice, he knows what he is about and also its his tune your running on your car.

Exactly... Hot-rodding a car around town on a blown coil or plug can wash out the oil on the affected cylinder scoring your cylinder wall and shaving down the ring because the fuel is not being ignited... This will cause a loss of compression on that cylinder forever... Permanent damage...

I thought you guys from Jersey had thicker skin?
You could also go back the 335 forums since it seems us M3 owners are "losers" as you so kindly put it.

Now that's a response I like!

I floored it one time to redline and it made that noise and hesitation as I described!!

I didn't know I was gonna do that? You think I'm really just driving around flooring it thinking that's okay?!? Lmao

It's just I really don't talk to anyone personally on here. I don't know anyone. I just got this car & ive been a lurker on this forum for years. I don't know how to tell if someone is joking from text. But I do appreciate that response. Never was I doubting your knowledge.

I will replace all the spark plugs & see if that helps.

Can I use the NGK plugs offered on ecstuning.com website?? There not OEM but are about $80 cheaper. I'm super charged so I'm not sure if I have to use different plugs.

Thanks

I'm also no expert but I'm pretty sure a supercharged m3 takes different plugs no? Someone chime in

Stock NGK plugs work fine and is the consensus on here. Welcome to the forum. We're all a good group of people. Some may be more passionate about certain topics but I'd suggest that you take your wall down a bit and not take everything so seriously on a public forum. The majority population here are very helpful and will also tear you up if you act high and mighty.

If you go through the trouble of changing out your plugs, consider leaving off the plug covers to make future plug changes easier

Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm new at this and I apologize. I was on my period.

I can't wait to get this thing running 100%. This car is nasty

? so I start to install the spark plugs and notice the recirculating BOV is missing one of the bolts. There for air is just blowing out under boost. ?

I got a new bolt. Tightened her up and installed the new plugs. Let me just say the car is an absolute BEAST!!!

thank you for the help & support. I am so in love with this monster. It would've ate my RB turbo'd 335 for breakfast.
