Trailered only!!! This car will be far from street legal.

Go go go Barry! I better be able to get a ride in this thing when I'm out in your neck of the woods.

I wish! I have serious doubts it'll be ready in time...

Thanks Matt! I'm sure Greg would love to build an E90 for u. He seems partial to four doors....

Thanks for the update.

Just a question. Why do they always do a repaint when a track car is being build?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I would love to repaint my car though I might just do a vinyl wrap once it becomes a race car. Why? Because it looks cool! With all the cage work you have to at least paint all the bare metal and it's easier to paint the whole interior than it is to paint just the cage. If you are already painting the interior, then it's easy to just paint the whole car. I painted my interior on a budget, so it's going to need to be resprayed. When that happens in a couple years I'll do the outside.

Barry, your car looks so amazing! I'm jealous and I already have an E46 track car Are you doing a front splitter and a rear wing? I don't know what your skill level is, but I'm an advanced student and I decided to hold off on that stuff. I hear that it makes you lazy in the car control department, so you end up staying further away from the limit. Same with slicks. I am running Michelin PSC's as I couldn't get the Nitto NT-01's in time for my first event. If you are running slicks, I am selling a couple sets of Yoko race slick scrubs. I've just been too lazy to list them. I figure that they'll harden before I feel confident enough to run them in a couple years so I should get rid of them.

Wish I had a significant update....progress has been very slow. At this point, motor/drivetrain is back in and the suspension is hung. Not a whole lot more. They've been working for weeks on the harness and so it's not running yet. Supposed to be ready to run in two weeks for an event at VIR. Got my fingers crossed but I'm not holding my breath!

Will post up some pics once the car is complete.

Thx!
