iPhone IOS upgrade = FAIL for integration?

Anyone else having issues getting their iPhone to work after upgrading to 4.2?

I have been plugging my iPhone in to the appropriate cabling and use it to listen to music stored on the phone - never been an issue until I did the upgrade, now it wont play music. Bluetooth still works fine and you can still see the contents of the phone (music list) but it wont play anything.

I have tried deleting it and then pairing it again with no luck.

anyone else had this problem? my iphone is what i use for music and i'm not at 4.2 yet and certainly wont be going up if this is the case.

I cant figure out what else it could possibly be! It worked, I upgraded and it has not worked since. I plugged in another iphone and it worked fine.

Plug it into iTunes, and resync your music, or do Autofill. This has happened to me twice, that's Apple tech for you. I upgraded the OS and I couldn't access any music but it was there.

Anyways, I did autofill and then took the phone to my car and it plays fine now.

Dont see autofill anywhere, trying a resync and I'll see if that works.

I update my iphone 4 yesterday. and it has a problem with the new idrive with combox. it will play music but the cover art and name of the songs displayed not matching the actual song that was playing... kind of weird and still no cover art or even name through Bluetooth streaming.

I don't know about bluetooth and calling (I use my iphone more of a backup phone/ itouch) but I ran into the same issue today. Updated to 4.2 and my IDrive won't recognize it. Everything else still works for my ipod nano and video. Maybe Apple will come out with a fix soon? Hopefully it doesn't take forever

So after doing a resync it works again!! I have never seen the cover art etc and its still not there so I am not too worried about that.

Does your car have the combox (i.e., September 2011 production or later)?

Phone works fine for me after 4.2 update on 08 E60. Don't ever use it in my 11.5 E92 but I'll check omw home tonight.

I've had a problem with re-arranging the icons. It takes quite some time to hold down on the icon and wait for them unlock for movement. Then it also takes quite a considerable amount of time to lock the icons into place with the home button. Countless crashes on everything: camera, safari, photo, app store, even mail :/

4.2.1 ran fine plugged into my 11.5 E92 as well.

I do have to admit the phone is significantly slower to respond than it was before the update.
