Cheaper Replacement for PS2's

These PS2's are so damn expensive...I want to have some fun with the car and kick the rear loose every now and then but these tires are so pricey haha

Are there any cheaper tires out there that offer the same or close performance of the PS2's wet and dry?

theyre pretty expensive and have lots grip. it wont be easier necessarily to kick out the rear.

for the days i feel like swingin the ass around, i put on my oem 19s rears that have little tread left on the ps2s.

its dangerous, but fun if you use the "right place right time" mentality.

It's pretty easy to kick out the rear with any tire...all you have to do is shift a bit harder and boom your sideways

But yea obviously there is a time and place for everything

yea thats true. i like the easy way. mildly corded tires on a damn surface. haha

They're not as well known, but the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's are pretty much the consensus for similar, if not better, performance compared to the PS2's and cost about half as much. I haven't seen anything but positive reviews on them. WheelSTO is one of the only vendors that carry them on the forums so shoot them a PM

yep got the vreds as well. i like them a lot for about half the price too.

I have 2 sets, one for DD and one for track/Autox. The threadwear on these is phenomenal, waaay better than the PS2's. After my first day at track with PS2, I had gouges in the sidewalls and big chunks of rubber missing from the thread area. The Ps2's lasted about 7K miles. The Vreds have gone through 5 track days and about 12 autox, no chunking/gouging and still reasonable thread for a few more Autox. The Vreds do get noticeably louder as the wear down, it is so noticeable when I switch from my DD set to the track set.
They're also awesome in the rain.

Only problem is they don't have exact OEM sizes (I only know about 18's) so you may end up with a wider but slightly lower sidewall, which kinda makes it look like it needs a drop.

AD08 or RE-11. If those are too much then Hankook V12's.

The big question is V12 vs. Vreds.
Someone here had the V12's and said they chuncked up after a day at the track, but that was just one person.
My Vreds have held up very well.

we are vendors for both the ventus Evo K110 and the Vred Ultrac and for street daily driving, the feel and noise level of the Vred is a lot better than the Hankook Ventus Evo K110.

as for price:
Hankook < Vredestein << Michelin PS2

Continental Contisports DW, awesome tire, rated Higher the then PS2 on tirerack, better wet traction and much better tread wear. Also cheaper.

Do not buy Han kook the worst tires ever for a m car, I am getting rid of mine asap, going back to ps2 after a few weeks only.

i really like the AD08 but for everyday driving, it has relatively shorter life, in my opinion.
but this rubber is amazing on dry conditions. it'd like putting your car on rails.

You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
