Hey fellow enthusiasts! I just wanted to ask for your opinion on apex wheel fitments. As I am tracking my car more this season, I didn't want to nick my beloved and rare Red TE37s from HPDEs, so I was thinking of picking up a set of Apex ARC-8s, especially since their group buy pricing is amazing, and they seem to be a popular track wheel for M3s! That way, I wouldn't feel as scared to abuse my wheels

Only thing is, I don't know if I should square it up with 18x10" or remain staggered with the 9.5" and 10.5". What do you think?

Aside from the discussio about dialling out understeer, the square set up means that you can move asymmetric tread tires backwards and forwards on the axles. I find my left front gets hammered, so at least I can alternate with my left rear. With symmetric tread tires, you can move them left and right to spread wear.

They'll all work, but keep in mind, this care doesn't understeer like the E46 does. The tail will come out pretty easily.

I have found that my car does not understeer nearly as much as the e46 M3s that I have driven, but I do enjoy the ability to rotate tires. I'm in the same boat as you, afraid to mess up my Volks, so looking into a set of the ARC-8s, especially with the insane group buy pricing! I think they're the best bang for buck, and if I happen to nick them, I won't feel as bad!!

Looks like I'm probably going to go for a squared setup to see if it'll improve my time, and to help the tires last a little longer

Kevin, it was a pleasure speaking with you over the phone. As mentioned in our conversation, the ability to rotate the front and rear tires is the main reason why people prefer a squared setup, in order to extend the life of the tires. The e9x M3 chassis does not have as much of an understeer issue as previous models, so a staggered setup can still be a great choice for those that do not feel the need for more grip up front.
