With the 15mm spacer up front I was lightly rubbing on the front of the wheel liner and it was rubbing so bad in the back of the wheel liner it was unusable. With the 12mm it is not rubbing in the front and lightly rubbing the back but it is enough to make me uncomfortable.

I'm leaning toward he VMR 710s or the Forgestar F14. The F14s can be done with a 19X10 25mm ET deep concave.. Haven't really decided yet. Right now if I had to choose it would be the Forgestars, as in 19X10 they come right in at 25lbs and the 19X11 right under 27lbs or darn near similar to the OEM ZCP wheel. Dave

Well I went ahead and pulled the spacers all together.
I finally got time to go cruise, these tires totally live up to the hype, simply fantastic! |

Here are a few pics of my 255F/275R PSS with no spacers installed:
https://picasaweb.google.com/1106740...eat=directlink Gotta figure out the spacer situation. I think I'm gonna put the 12mm back on in the rear as there was no problem with the back. Ideally I would just run 12mm front and rear but I didn't like that the 12mm rubbed up front. Anyone want to trade a pair of 15mm spacers for 10mm's? I am not sure if that would work for me either but I wouldn't mind trying... |

Real world track experience with PSS
Take a look at the pics. Think Michelin will warranty them under their mileage warranty?
2 days with about 6-7 hours of track time corded the shoulders on both fronts. Running -3 camber on E92 M3. The rest of the tire tread is between 5/32 and 8/32 remaining. overall it is a fair track tire but not as good as the Yoko AD08s for track use. Traction isn't quit up to the AD08's and I usually get 2-3x the wear out of the AD08's then I did the PSS. However since the AD08's are symetrical and directional you can remove and reinstall on the other side of the car as you wear the shoulder down and double the shoulder life of the tires. Going to stay away from the PSS for now...... |

I tried mixing the PSS and PS2's on the track because I had a bunch of PS2's left for rear fitment and struggled with massive, and I mean MASSIVE oversteer because the front PSS were soo much better than the PS2's. For street use, doubt you will notice, but for track use you'll regret it.

Regarding a mileage warranty claim, you can always try. The last time I read the fine print in a mileage warranty, all four tires had to be worn to at least a minimum measurement before an adjustment was offered. But maybe this one is different. Good luck. |

I was actually going to try it on a pair of Continental rear tires that I replaced at 9K miles. But after I read it, I found out I would have to wear down all four, and on the staggered OE setup that's not very feasible. And even with a square setup, by the time you rotate and get all four worn down, the amount of adjustment would be negligible, which I guess is their goal.

And two drivers could have very different perceptions. The car would have relatively more rear grip than before, which would result in moving the handling balance towards more understeer. But what is the driver doing? Some would stay on throttle and grind away the front tires. Others would get some rotation with a gentle throttle lift and then enjoy the additional grip on corner exit. The car may be faster/slower in different parts of the turn. I heard something once that I have decided is absolutely true. Given a reasonable range of handling balance through which a car can be set up, it doesn’t make a heck of lot of difference, if the driver is willing/able to deal with it. We all have preferences about it, which gets down to how we enjoy driving, but not what is correct.

Do you mind PMing me where in the UK and for how much you got your PSS for? Presumably they don't have a star on them, as its not BMW OE yet?

I know that some of you think that I am crazy and cheaped out with my Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 110 tires but I couldn't be happier. I have had them on for about 2 weeks now and they do everything that I want them to do - excellent dry grip, good wet grip, slightly softer than the PS2's and I saved 40% from the PSS price. Much of my driving is in/around NYC in traffic and the local highways but I have had some fun in the suburbs and I still can't complain about them. I don't plan on using them on the track (that is what I have track tires for) so I wouldn't rule these out for normal street driving.
I was surprised at how difficult the PS2's were to get off the 220 wheels. I have changed lots of tires (I have a Hunter TC3250 tire mounter in the garage) and am good at it but these were difficult to do alone and I almost gave up. Once I finally got the first one off and realized that it was possible the others weren't quite as bad. The average tire shop must hate these things. |

The reason I went to the PSS was because I found the Hankooks to be disappointing when I pushed the car hard. They were not confidence inspiring. But, as a DD tire, they were great and comfortable. IMO, the Hankooks and the Continental Extreme Contact DW are exceptional value performance tires.

On my 135i, just got the PSS installed, coming from the Hankook V12s. Clearly the PSS's are better, but for the price, the Hankook's just can't be beat. Having said that, I'm glad I made the switch. Yes, there is a difference, yes it was worth it for me. If you car is a DD that you commute with and don't push hard, the Hankooks are a no-brainer. But the PSS offer more grip wet and dry and allow you to be more confident. |

I'd be interested in hearing from someone who has had both Hancooks and Vredestein Sessantas, as I have been extremely impressed with the latter for a budget performance tire.
