That applies to almost everyone in SoCal.

I'm not suggesting anything. Simply making an observation (on how many days we get here) and repeating what north & northEast guys seems to report right here on this very forum.

Probably has to do with the rough/smooth track surfaces.

Changing gears for a sec, I wondered about mixing fronts & backs, but you've (1:57 at BRP!) convinced me.

www.performancetread.com has the best pricing in most cases.

On a serious note, almost no one in SoCal gets more than 4-5 days on track tires. All that 8 to 12 track days happens up north, northEast, etc.
4-5 days? How do you do that? I beat the hell out of mine and still got 7 days.

They may have better prices but they charge for shipping which is almost a wash then.

Yeah, I'll get about 4 days out of my NT01s (maybe 5 but I'm not going to risk it since I drive to and from the track). My car is a lot lighter than most all E9X M3s...it's just a hair over 3,000lbs without me in and a 1/4 of a tank and I still wear them out fast (I run between 34-36 hot).

My passenger side tires was more worn then the driver side ones after 2 track days. I'll flip the wheels around since I'll do BRP for 2 days in late Feb also with the 13CW configuration. I'm going for 1:55 now that I have my roll bar and harness in.

Driving to the track on them may be part of it, I was lazy once and drove home on them and noticed increased wear. Won't do it anymore. I also evaluate while at the track and rotate so one side doesn't get more worn.

I'd ruin mine in 5 days but I flip them after 4 days. Do you flip yours? You'll probably get another 2-3 days.

Depends...PT is sometimes cheaper than discount tires since they charge sales tax if they have a distribution center in the same state as the shipping address.

Since I run super staggered (245 front and 335), I flip the wheels on the other side of the car after 2 days on the tires if I'm running at the same track going in the same direction.

Discount tires doesn't have anything in CA so no sales tax for us Cali guys (neither do PT).

No trailer queen here...she is a weekend and DE track car. But alas, there's no room inside of her for an extra set of wheels/tires so NT01s/RA1s to and from the track is the only option (even less room now with a roll bar in the back).

Mines an e46 with a cage and I don't have a trailer yet. Still fit extra set in the back, had my cage built to accomodate that.

And james is talking about flipping on the rim as you always end up wearing one edge more than the other. Usually the outside but depends on your set up.

What can I say, I paid more to get less interior room. But yeah, I put on about 150-175 miles each way to the track so maybe the highway driving is eating up some of the extra days I might have.

The tires do wear evenly side to side though even though I'm running over -2 camber front and back with all the highway miles so I don't have to flip them on the wheel (I'm sure driving it on the highway helps even it out the wear as I told my shop how I'd be using the tires).

My guess is your even wear is related to your street driving. At the track you are wearing the outer edges and on the drive to the track your chewing up the inner edges because of camber. That amount of street driving is certainly shortening your tire life.

What can I/we say. As confirmed by a number of people here in SoCal, we get 4~5 days. As I stated earlier, perhaps it has to do with the rough track surfaces here.

Here's my driver's front tire driving 2 days going in the CW direction:

Here's the passenger's front tire (almost all of the tread is gone and I'll flip it to other side my next 2 days):

since you are staggered do you get more days out of rears than front. if i couldnt go front to back that would be the case for me. front passenger wears quickest.

I can get up to 14 days out of mine. Maybe because we have to drive real hard just to get the tire temperature above the freezing level in the far north.

The tracks I am on are quite smooth. They reseal the surface to prevent cracks ( winter heaving) so the surface is not real rough. They have concrete in the high wear areas and that is even smoother.

When it rains the southerners often slide off the track and into those close in walls. We tell them to be careful. Wet seal coat is slick.
