And he did say he doesnt drive it like a maniac, so hes responsible to know what the car can do. However I do find it immature to come and make a post that says "a big surprise". Theres no need to come in here and tell everyone you got a USED M3 at 16. Not to sound like a dick but to IMO you seem liek your coming here to show off that your 16 and you have an M3, i don't see another reason why you would make a thread expressing your age. When i got my Brand new SLK at 16 I didnt go around mbworld.org telling everyone im 16 a Junior in HS, and when i got my brand new M3 as a gift for my 19th birthday I didnt come here making a thread "big surprise". Honestly even though your M3 is used its a good gift, but dont go around flaunting it and making it a big deal that your 16. Theres plently of Richer 16 year olds than you, i know a few idiots who got m6's brand new as there 18th birthday gift. Yet they still dont go on forums to show off that there 18 with an M6.

Great birthday present. And trust me, I am not one for buying a 16 year old a high performance car, even though my older brother had a Porsche 928 as a DD (1984 so the power level was relatively low by contemporary standards). Just don't take it for granted, because there are many of us who cannot afford an M3 and we have been working for a long time, or other financial responsibilities that make it impossible.
Hopefully your parents know that this car (like any other high-performance car) is a trouble magnet for people at a young age, and they know that their son isn't going to drive w/ reckless abandon. But from your opening post, it sounds like you have your head tightly screwed in. NEVER, NEVER brag about your age or your finances (or your parents') because people hate tools more than anything else. You may hate the way us older people are saying things like this, but a very humble attitude about your car and wealth will get you far in life. PS: Hell if I were you I would be happy as hell too; enjoy |

Lol yeah since going from an M3 to a 335i is the same as going from a $200,000 ferrari to a hybrid. I'm glad to see your using over-exaggeration and showing your self-centeredness to make asshole remarks to complete strangers.

I disagree. Driving around in a nice car doesnt mean your wealthy. A large percentage of americans are driving around in cars they can hardly afford. Hence, one of the numerous reasons our economy has reached a breaking point. We're a nation of consumers and many people buy things they can't afford, which is why the average american has over $8500 in debt. Now im not saying these parents cant afford this M, but its a tall assumption saying that if you can buy a car, you can also easily shell out another 75k+ for college.

Lol Thanks for the heads up. No worries though, I never do. The anonymity of the internet always causes stupid arguments. I just think going around and poking fun at people just for shits and giggles is kind of a dick move, regardless.
Back on topic...... BMWxM, dude go out and have some good, safe fun in your new ride. And Congrats. |

congrats on the car...
i would hate as a 16 yr old to drive this to school. i know for sure it's going to get keyed let alone have people talk behind your back. unless of course you go to a school where everyone drives bimmers and mercs. enjoy the car. i hope you appreciate it as much as us "old folks" here who saved up for their ride. don't get me wrong...if my parents gave me an m3 when i was 16, i don't think i could ever say no to it. LOL
