Going beyond 255/275 on stock ZCPs will not perform as well...either on the track or in a straight line. I never understood why people would go larger unless they are going for a "blocky" look. Just get the correct tire size and an alignment from a place that specializes in M3's for so they can dial the specs for your driving needs.

No spacers. No rub with 2 pax 75kg each in the back, Front Pax 90kg with me driving. In fact, the car bottomed out a bit when I went over a hump so I'm pretty sure shocks were close to full compression. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=880474&page=2 |

I don't have a preference either way, so I'll see what real world experience says... A few spirited drives and a day at track should give me a good idea shortly.

Might feel a little adventurous to try 275/295 when this set wears out. |

Like I said, I respect everyone's opinion, specially those who've contributed to this thread or had experience with this setup, but logically speaking it makes sense that the wider surface contact area, the slightly smaller yet stiffer sidewall, etc, would give you better traction specially on cornering.... we shall see soon enough.

295/30
Sorry to bring this up again but I need to replace tyres and am considering 255/35F and 295/30R so just wanted to know what were your findings with your setup?
I will be taking off the 220 wheels and fitting the zcp wheels on a standard e92 M3. Thanks |

You'll be the first one to run this set-up so don't bother doing your own research. No data. At all.

I stuck with 255 for now because a) still had thread, and b) wanted to see how the handling is affected with larger footprint delta on the staggered setup...if not good (too much oversteer, etc), then I'll put some 265's up front.

265/30-295/30 is fine for a daily. I did not notice the increase in ride comfort with the 30 profile. Ideally you need to take the car to the track to notice the traction limits which I have not. For daily duties, it felt the same as factory PS2. Looks wise, they do look a tad aggressive from the rear. In heavy rain, they are quite on par with factory PS2. I was expecting some Aquaplaning and pulling to either side with 295s. |

My car had 255/35 and 295/30 when I picked it up. Compared to my square setup for the track there is a noticeable difference in oversteer, which I was not expecting at all. Mainly on corner entry or if you lift at all, even slightly. This has remained the same through a few different suspension setups as well. Including KW Clubsports, Dinan stage 1 and now the Ohlins R&T. I'd like a wider tire up front but I already have clearance issues as is with my BBS wheels. It seems the E92 has much more forgiving wheel wells than the E90 does. I wouldn't recommend that fitment unless you're just a straight line type of driver.

so back in the market for a new set. what do you guys recommend these days? will say the potenzas were GOOD but not GREAT they felt a little floaty on the highway and not as stuck to the ground as the pzero or the pss. i did like the look of the wider tires but not sure i felt like the car was in a better place performance wise.

I've got the competition package, so I'm thinking there will be rubbing with 295s on the rear of a comp package E90. Thoughts? |

That should be fine, especially if being used on the stock wheels. My car is lowered and had issues over dips in the road, especially at highway speeds or with passengers in the rear seat.

My understanding is that 295s, at least in PSS, will not rub (at least not significantly enough to really notice) on an E90 ZCP. I'm aware of two E90s that did this setup without issue.
