E90 M3 10K mile photo report
I'm typically a lurker here, but wanted to drop in with a bit of a photo report on the first 10,000 miles of my E90 M3. I'll keep the words to a minimum...
Background: I came to the E90 from a Audi B7 S4. It was a great car, and I regretted selling it...until the the M3 arrived. I sold my S4 and ordered my E90 as a 2011.5 model. 6MT, Space Gray, Black Novillo, ZCV, ZP2, EDC, Heated seats. I didn't go ZCP because this is my daily driver and I wanted the ground clearance for the winter months. I decided to do an ED since I'm in Germany for work every couple of months (and to save some $$), so I picked the M up in late February this year. The break in period was too long, but I kept it under 5500 (mostly). Pretty quick, the car got some planned early Mods: OEM 359 Rims + Bridgestone Potenza 255/275 tires and Lux H8's. I did a track day this summer at about 6K miles. Pretty awesome. HPDE1, 100 octane fuel + stock M3 = lots of fun. No moving shots, but here is a cool down pic. Winter prep! I took off the ZCP wheels and put on some OEM 18's with Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires. I also added matte black grilles, gills, and painted reflectors. I really like the OEM look and don't typically mod, but this car really should have come from the factory like this. Oh, and just recently we picked up another V8 powered BMW in the family...a 2012 X5 5.0. What an awesome truck. Here are some pics of the family: Overall I love the M3. It is THE perfect 4 door sleeper. Thoughts: For those who complain of "Low torque": Downshift. This car has so much power from 4K on it's scary. Maintenance: Aside from the schedule maintenance, I've only had to add 1Q of oil post track day. Daily Driveability: In a word, this thing is awesome to drive everyday. Guaranteed to make you smile. My standard mode is everything soft...I drive into Manhattan once or twice a week and I still have my teeth. M mode is set to MDM/Sport throttle/Sport steering/EDC Normal for when I want to step it up a notch. iDrive: I recently added the BMW Assist Convenience Package and Google Search is SO much better than the built in POI's... Looks great! Kinda wish I had an E90 sometimes. But now that you can't order them from factory, E92 it is. |

I know what it is. I am asking how you had it added recently. How can you add a package, that's what I don't get.

Nice driveway. I really like the color of the X5. Looks like the only thing you missed was a performance center delivery

In September, @ Pocono. It was the double infield course...about 145mph at the end of the long straight (and a heck of a bump at that start of that straight).
I found a vid of me. Start at about 2 minutes in, and you'll see me point the Mustang by @ 4:15: I'm in Westchester county. Check out the CCA events @ Limerock or Pocono if you are near the city. |

There was a _slight_ difference in the top end, I seemed to get to redline quicker in the last 1500 RPM's. The biggest noticeable difference was the awesome overrun backfire...I've never heard that on street gas.
