Looking to track the M3

So I have about 2300 miles on the clock. I'm signed up for an intro drivers school next month but there is also a 2 day track day at Pocono Raceway that I'd like to attend.

By then I should easily have 3000-3500 on the clock. Do you think it's too soon to take it to the track?

I still haven't really opened the car up completely yet.

Good for you. This car is truly made to be driven on the track, so you're making the right choice.

If you are past break-in by that time (3100 miles I believe is final break in?) I see nothing wrong with it. I went to the track for the first time with a bit more (around 3500-4000) and didn't have any issues. I took it a bit easy though, and only ran it hard in one or two sessions (and after seat time with my instructor, realized I wasn't even driving hard!)

Good luck

That should be fine. The diff is supposed to be fully broken in at 3100 miles. As for opening up the engine, you're 1000 miles past the engine 1200 mile engine break in point. So go ahead and floor it and rev that thing all the way to 8300 rpms.

Went to the m-power tour and BMW was tracking their cars with 1600 miles on them.

As soon as the break-in fluids are out of the car, you're perfectly safe. Matter of fact, the car is probably broken in before the 1200 mile mark, but you still have all the nasty stuff in the oils.

With about 1500 miles on the clock I hit the Nurburgring.

I just didn't have the time when I did my ED, but if I did - ring time!

Very nice my friend!

I made a few laps @1205 mls. Drove to the Service center completed the break-in service and drove straight to the track.

No regrets.

You'll be fine. My red one lost its virginity at 800 miles.
