Nekky's "Just another optionless Dakar Yellow E92 on TE-37s" fake build thread
Haven't posted any pics of my 2010 Dakar Yellow 'Edition' E92 so figured, what the hell: today is a good day to get flamed. Colour won't be for everyone but I love it and it pops in person.
I bought this car because I've always loved Dakar Yellow and have never seen another one for sale that I could see and touch before buying. In particular, this is an Edition car which is quite rare. Even rarer is the fact that it has zero options save for DCT and rear PDC. I traded my Mini JCW (fully loaded with factory Recaros and modded too) and have to say I miss the JCW's pulling power up hills. E92 is tons of fun though and you can't beat this V8 for driving excitement. I've spent quite a bit of time in an F80 and am happy to say that the new platform is not, for me, lustworthy enough to warrant a change. While this isn't a "build" per se, I can't drive anything stock. Mod list so far (and probably won't be doing anything else significant): - KW V3 - Volk TE-37 18x9.5/10.5 +22 on 265/35/18F + 285/35/18R Michelin PSS - Turner Motorsport test pipes - Dinan mufflers - Akrapovic Delete-R - Lux V2 Future plans... there are only two things I would really like for this car. One being a Euro bumper and two being the BMW Performance steering wheel w/ yellow stripe. Other than that, I'm just gonna drive her and hopefully get to a trackday some time soon. Sorry for iPhone pic quality! |

Think the euro bumper is a GREAT IDEA! Damn reflectors are hideous. Other than that I think the car looks gorgeous, but may I suggest maybe LCI tail lights?

Thank you, and good eye. Editions, to my knowledge, are the only "easy" way to get the mirror housing painted body colour. Your car is a legend, JEllis. Thanks for the kind words. Quote:
Thanks guys!! No thanks. See above quoted post! |

Are you sure that it isn't a Canadian thing? I was under the impression that heated seats were standard as part of the Edition package, given that the seats only came one way (black leather w/ contrasting stitching and stripe). I definitely could be wrong, but I was quite certain... This car doesn't even have lumbar adjustment.

Sure. Thanks I think Knew this before mounting All good. Doesn't look clowny but I never wanted a black or white or grey or blue E92 anyway! They aren't permanent. Thanks bro! Skål! |
