Washing Micro Fiber Towels
Any recommendations for washing your microfiber towels? I bought top shelf and they are really great but I noticed some of the softeness seems to have faded a bit and they don't seem quite as absorbent as when new.
Also, is Sonax wheel cleaner all the pundits claim? Is it really a no scrub cleaner? Photo evidence looks pretty good. Anything better? I love my M220s but PITA to clean! Thanks in advance guys.

Wash by themselves with Woolite detergent. Don't mix fabrics and never use fabric softener or dryer sheets. Dry on low heat until 80% dry, then air dry until 100%.

+1. You can also get some special microfiber detergents through autogeek.net. I've used several different ones with good results.

in regards to sonax yes it works pretty well, but agitation with some brushes is always recommended for the best results. |

Switched the Blackfire MF detergent, towels are much softer and fluffy. |

I use the MF detergent and no dryer, just wring them out and air dry. They've been good as new for 2+ years.
As for Sonax, I was unsure if it really was one of the best after using it for about a year exclusively. I recently did a mini-comparison between Sonax and Griots Heavy Duty. Although 1/2 the price, you needed about twice as much. Also Sonax works best on a dry wheel, wait 3-5min (out of the sun) and then I use a soft brush to go over the wheel quickly and then a strong spray of water. That method gets out 95% of the dirt/dust/grime. The Griots was much better smelling, and worked well (tried on a wet wheel as recommended), but needed much more scrubbing and liberal application than the Sonax. |

there is no wheel cleaner that you can just spray on and wash off. agitation with proper brushes is always needed if you want a perfectly clean rim. otherwise sonax and many other wheel cleaners do a good job of getting most of the dirt off the wheel

Most of the time you need to get down and at least wipe it a little when cleaning. I have had good luck using Meguiar's Wheel Brightener as a spray on hose off on some wheels. That's only on painted wheels when they are off the car though. It eats brake dust! Do not use that while the wheel is on the car! That stuff will eat unpainted metal (Brakes, suspension parts etc) - its an acid. But on hard, baked on brake dust, this makes quick work of it!
