I am in the same situation as you, but I am going to try zip ties. It should work. The law only specifies that license plates must be "securely fastened to the vehicle for which they are issued so as to prevent the plates from swinging." That cop can't require you to attach the plate with any specified method as long as your method meets the requirements of law. I would just use zip ties and find a different cop.

Hmmmm, I think you may be right. The license plate may be too big.

Just have a different cop sign off on it dude. ANY cop can sign off. The last time I went to get a front plate ticket signed off, the guy stuck his head out the door, looked at the my car (with the plate velcro'd on tempararily) and signed it. lol

I have a tow hook front plate bracket. My car is an E46, so I don't know if it'll fit on a E9X BMW, but should be worth a shot if you guys want. I'm in Sherman Oaks.

But I've found my front plate bracket makes life 100 times easier since I can just screw it on then pop it right off as opposed to zip ties which can be annoying to cut off. |
