2009 BMW M3 -- 2009 Porsche Cayman S -- 2009 Audi R8
Hey there
Im a long time reader but but don't really post much. A bit of background information: Im 29 .. live in Dubai and single(no plans to get hitched anytime soon). im enjoying the single life and plan to keep doing so for the next 5 years at least. Thankfully things are going good here financially nowadays and I would like your opinion on which of the following cars you guys would buy if you had the choice and why? please keep in mind that here in dubai these 3 cars( yes even the R8) in the used market are quite similarly priced (a maximum of 7k dollars between them) with the R8 coming in at being the most expensive of the lot and the caymanS trailing at the bottom of the list. So which one would you guys get and why? please take into consideration power, looks and handling. Ignore things like trunk space, difference in pricing and practicality as these do'nt matter to me much at this time in my life. I would appreciate your opinions and feedback as I plan to get one of these soon. 1. 2009 BMW M3 coupe 2. 2009 porsche caymans 3. 2009 Audi R8 options wise, all cars are again pretty similar, as most cars brought to this region are fully optioned out. Thanks in advance guys |

I've never driven an R8, but it sure is sexy. I would probably lean this direction since the benefits of the M3's more practical packaging don't seem to matter to you. A downside to both the R8 and Cayman is you can only carry one passenger. The M3 will fit four adults pretty comfortably even if you get the coupe.
If you plan to do a decent amount of track days then the Porsche would probably rise to the top of my list. It will be fun on a track and cheaper to maintain than the Audi. Good luck! |

go for the R8, the R8 ir's a beautical car, and nice performance, I'm on the same boat as you, 31 and no future plans to be hitched, lets enjoy while we can .it's weird all these taxes, The 997 C2S is priced the same as the M3 here, leaving behind all the others, cayman, cayman S, boster, carrera, etc, so my next buy is the 998 C2S, already made a deposit to reserve one

Get the caymen I own a m3 and a caymen. I also own 3 other porshes and they are great cars, they don't carry alot of people. So if u are just looking for space get the m3.

As I thought and the one I am most likely going to get. The R8 is the popular choice! Is it because of the looks? Cause I know for a fact powerwise and handling all 3 are great cars Abd pretty equal. Warzilla. Sure thing man. Let me when ur in town |

Wow an unbelievably encouraging set of responses from the BMW fans here. For an all out performer and a more exotic look the R8 is my vote as well.

I've been down the Cayman s route, didn't like the car, sold it after 3 weeks, M3's a much better package, Audi R8, now that a different thing altogether.

I'd say
1) R8 2) M3 3) Cayman S All around, the M3 is a better car than the Cayman S, and on the track they're neck and neck. "All around" as in, space, comfort, amenities, etc. R8 I know nothing about, except it looks awesome, is overpriced, and the performance numbers are pretty bad for the cost, but if used they're relatively equal in price then go for it. What about a GT-R? Those are cheaper than an R8 brand new, and the performance numbers are amazing.
