yeah, i was kidding. the whole point of "the camera that's always with you" is because it fits in your pocket. :\

and then there's the whole lack of manual exposure and loss of light thing.

It looks kinda like a telescope with a CCD imager attached to it.

good for funny factor and party tricks, but 300$ could be used better on memory cards and such

Geez, $250 to use your $1000 lens to produce crappy pictures. Right.

Oh great, $250 for an uncontrollable aperture and two-stops underexposed; otherwise, it looks like a heck of a deal.

Rodi, please post some results after you give it a test run.

(I'll upgrade my iPhone in the fall, but right now I'm dealing with the original 3G version. I DO plan to make more use of my iPhone as a camera after I upgrade. I've seen some amazing stuff.

Dave

I would've crapped my pants if I took that photo... even with a 500mm lens.

Actually that guy is amazing. He uses wide angle lenses and remote control to get those fantastic perspectives.

I can't tell if this is a brand name or if it just says color.

i think that's a white balance control judging by the images around the word "color"

looks like color. i tried finding other cameras with similar markings, dials and shutter release placement.
it appears to be an old 35mm SLR with a removable pentaprism, but that lens mount is a bit far from the film plane. (and not a small form-factor 120). closest match I cam to was a pentacon brand.
