happens 2-3x month. They tailgate you, pull up beside you, etc etc.
Had one guy in a catless 335 stop in the middle of traffic....waiting for me to drive buy......and he filmed the whole thing on his iphone. He damn near followed me home...(still filming...iphone hanging out the window). The security gates prevented him from following me home.. Thank God. I know he is a fellow enthusiast and all....but this kid stalked me. lol When in the car and the wife hears me say "here we go again"....she knows some dude wants a piece of the M. I rarely give in though.. |

The bigger question is why does this even concern you? There will always be idiots wanting to race or dice if you acknowledge them. I have nothing to prove on street and could care less about a bonehead next to me inciting a race. If you want to race take it to the track or the drag strip.

Yet when you watch the three runs, you'll likely conclude, as I do, that the POS truck is NOT as fast as a GT-R, even with the alleged 42PSI and 1125lb-ft of torque.
Still, an impressive feat, though I wouldn't be interested in owning it, I'd love to ride around in it having fun for an afternoon.

Well, you can forget all that. The new car is fitted with a turbocharged straight six. Turbocharging? In an M car? That’s like putting gravy on an ice cream. - Jeremy Clarkson, discussing the S65 and then S55 M3 engines. |

Exactly. It's like a fast boat: I don't WANT one, I want a friend who has one!

That took full self control and cool to do. Also i'm guessing you were in the force to feel comfortable to involve cops in an evolving situation. Very Well done !!

Those things are dinosaur technology "bigger with no innovation" is the moto, no technology improvements, backward technology regression. It's the same mentality as making the biggest pizza in the world for the sake of it. Of the biggest pair of scissors in the world. In the same vein.. hot dog eating contests...
If you want to go down that line here is the Cummin 18.9 liter engine. Torque 1,580 lb.ft. No technological merit. "Upsizing without smart" : a popular american idea that almost bankrupted GM and Ford if it wasn't for a govt bailout and the 2008 crisis that electroshocked them. It was a much needed reform, they silently learned and copied modern efficient "technology with real merits" from european and japanese cars in the last 5-7 years. That was a much needed reality check for the american vehicles industry. Last edited by nthretourNAFTW; 04-12-2015 at 11:38 PM.. |

At least here is a mega monster diesel that has a real use :
The Wärtsilä-Sulzer RTA96-C Diesel Engine road bearings engine building... Torque : 5,608,310 lbf·ft (yeah that's 5.6 millions) Power : 46,680–108,920 BHP and it's not american. It currently powers that container boat : Cummin feels like a mosquito in comparison. Everything is relative. Last edited by nthretourNAFTW; 04-13-2015 at 11:12 AM.. |
