Road Paint on Car! How to remove?

Its springtime again here in the Midwest and they began to re-paint the lines in the road.

I'm pretty sure I must have driven over a freshly painted line because there is yellowish paint spatter right behind my left front & rear wheel wells. Obivously, I have tried to hand wash with soap and car sponge and it did not come off, not the first, second or third time. I've had bad luck with cleaning wax and having it scuff the clear coat.

Does anyone have a solution to this that will not ruin the clearcoat or paint job?

Depending on how big the "specks" of paint are, you might try Stoner's Tarminator first. Clay should take care of it if the spatters are small, though. Whatever you end up doing, be sure to re-seal/wax afterwards.

Specks are no larger than the tip of a pencil, maybe a bit larger. I'll give both things a try and see what happens. I have to wait for more clay, all out of good stuff.

Clay, if that doesn't work 3M adhesive remover and soak the piss out of it. If that doesn't work, soak a rag with it and see how you can get it to stay against the paint. All that really is is lighter fluid so it won't hurt the paint but it might need to soak in for a while.

With the size of the drops you got you should be fine. I got roofing tar off of one of my brother's cars a few years ago.

I tried the clay bar and it did not work. The paint specs will not come off and I don't want to rub hard with the clay. Next up is the 3M adhesive remover... more to come

Goo off, and possibly some plastic razor blades. If you need to borrow an orbital buffer afterwards, just drop me a PM.

If you want to take it to a professional detailer, look for RaskyR1 over at autopia. I've never had any work done by him, but the work he's posted up is pretty damn impressive.
